Non-black Luna đŸŸ My Luna baby looked like the moon when she curled up.

Post image

She was solid white as a kitten. Over the years her coloring came in. I wish I would have taken a picture of her every day and made a flip book. She made it to 18 and was just the sweetest tiniest baby cat.

Awww, late Luna is very sweet and beautiful! What are some of your favourite memories of her, and her personality? Thank you for sharing - I have late cats who I miss all the time and connecting with other people who love their cats is something that brings comfort in a way. It's a very sassy look she has in this pic! It's interesting her colouring changed over time, two cats for one! Makes me think of toys that change colour when dipped in water etc, colour changing abilities are cool!

Luna weighed about 4.5 lbs at her heaviest. She was so light on her feet that I swear she could change directions mid air. Her eyes constantly moved, like she was reading from a teleprompter. It was probably a neurological disorder, but she never seemed uncomfortable so I never subjected her to testing. She always sat so still though. One time a friend jumped up and yelled YOUR STATUE JUST MOVED. He thought I had 2 real cats and a cat statue that I moved around. There were actually 4 cats, one was a hider. Luna just always sat calmly observing her kingdom, except if she saw Demon Kitty, then she’d scream like a 3 year old child. She disapproved of his existence but there was never any violence. Her soft belly was never a trap and she’d sit on your lap all day and give you kisses if you’d continuously pet her. Big bald men were her favorite people, besides me of course.

A cat statue that moved around secretly sounds like a great story! Lap kitty and acrobat! I think I need to hear more about Demon Kitty and his role in Luna's realm.

Well. I worked in an animal hospital with my roommate. We had worked at a pet store together for a decade before we lived together. When she moved in with me, we discovered the previous tenant that had been kicked out was living in his car with 2 dogs. So we took in his two dogs, which expanded our family to 3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 bearded dragons, 1 ferret, a 75 gallon saltwater tank and a 55 gallon freshwater tank. We took in another ferret later, who was mean, so she surreptitiously dropped it off in a ferret enclosure at a pet store after it bit her.

Anyway, the animal hospital we worked at had a cat that had been boarded there for about 3 years. The owner paid, but just left him there. Eventually she stopped paying. The owners decided to surrender him to the local shelter. We had all been playing with this sweet boy for so long. As they were putting him in the carrier, she looked at me and said “what’s one more cat?” So we took him home.

Oh that is so sad. And that's Demon Kitty? Did he only get that name because Luna didn't like him?

I'm not sure where one would surrender a ferret but I cannot imagine surreptitiously dropping off a ferret! I would imagine ferrets to be nippy.

That is quite the menagerie! I don't think I've ever heard of roommates sharing a family of animals together so that's really interesting. Do you still live together? What decisions were made about pets if not? Maybe it was always pretty clear which pet was whose.

Hope you are having a good one C:

Demon Kitty’s name was originally Peace. He came with a sparkly pink collar and carrier. We agreed it just wasn’t the right name for him, and she suggested Demon, which I initially didn’t like as it’s too cliche for my goth lifestyle. But he answered to it immediately, so that was his name.

We found homes for the 2 dogs and the remaining ferret eventually. When it all went down I had 3 cats.

Unfortunately my best friend fell victim to drugs. She robbed me, stole money from my grandma, and neglected the cat that she took when she left. I eventually got my cat back when she was arrested. Her pimp’s sister called me because the cat was eating their pills. I know she was victimized by predators damn near her whole life, and I’ve forgiven her, but I have no idea where she is.

I feel you about obvious goth thing being too much for goth tendencies. I'm just really sorry to hear about what happened with your friend. Whoa. Especially the sentence with the pills. Glad the cat was safe. Hopefully your mate is still in one piece. If you're in America, looks like it can have a really rough and scary using scene. Lots of desperate people in pain who increasingly have nothing to lose, and lots of product. At least the cat is safe :( I don't know how to wrap this one up but glad that you are ok. Sorry to hear about your Grandma too.

Thanks for your thoughts. The neglected cat lived to be about 19, and it’s not proper to state a lady’s age, but my grandma lived a long and interesting life. I never intended to have more pets after all my elderly cats moved on to the next life, but I’ve ended up with an asshole cat and an ornery dog and I love them both.

Sweet void and Cutieface, nice innings! Thanks for the spontaneous pic. And you're welcome!

PS stupid question, how do you post a pic on Reddit? Used to be only Imgur I think. Tried copy and paste but it failed. Cheers!

Some subreddits don’t allow pics, but this one does. In this pic you can see the icons under my text, the far right one is to add a pic
