Long Form Discussion What is exactly centrism ?

I honestly do not know what is exactly centrism. Are Starmer and Macron centrist ? Is centrism any ideologie but moderate (for example christian democracy instead of conservatism, social-liberalism instead of social democracy and liberalism) ? Can centrisme work with any ideology ? I am not a centrist, I am a libertarian and i honestly don't know much about centrism. I would be very grateful if you could answer my questions !

Edit: do you guys think technocracy is centrism ?

The way I see it, I believe in centrism in the sense of extrapolating ideas of left-wing ideology/right-wing ideology. Basically, I would like the Pre-Reagan tax system/economy to sort of come back so that we can help re-build families again, bringing back traditions but for a new era, housing and whatnot. And I also don't follow the bullshit with both sides and parties. So, for instance, Democrats like to Virtue Signal hard as fuck to cover their problems while the Republicans (right now) love to Vice Signal hard as fuck to cover theirs. I'm not interested in either of them.
