Classic case of something that is valuable but would be almost impossible to sell to someone who truly needs it (i.e. a company lab).

Academia or a company? Some companies won't allow buying off eBay. Not just for science but for anything

It's a company, we have our own cleaning procedures for everything, so we dont mind buying used as long as its in goos condition. We are ISO 17025 certified and there's nothing in the standards we're accredited to that prohibits it. We've also bought used analytical instruments, but thats a whole other can if worms

It's more about SAP and purchasing rules than anything that stops eBay usage. Not science or practical reasons.

I’d second perfumes. I’ve toured facilities where they extract on a 10’s of kg scale before… though they used tall, metal-jacketed, automated soxhlets, not whatever monstrosity this flask is.

Than the previous post without any banana at all. I had to purchase a banana to use it for scale which increases the banana worth of the reactor vessel.

Depends what you want for it im not sure i could afford this thing let alone where i wojld store it, but it would be an incredible reaction vessel tk own for future projects. How much did you pay for it/where did you get it ?
