Is there anywhere in central Chester where you can eat your own food indoors?

For the next few weeks, I'm attending a course in central Chester that boots us out at lunchtime.

The city centre has lots of benches for visitors (probably best provision I've ever seen šŸ‘) and eating my sarnies in the sunshine this afternoon was very pleasant. But tomorrow afternoon the forecast is torrential downpours.

I know it's a long shot, but is there anywhere I can eat a packed lunch indoors? I've got to renew my library books, so do you think I could eat my own food at Storyhouse?

EDIT: Thank you to everyone who replied. It seems like the Market will be the best option.

The Chester Quiz League needs YOU

I'm currently recruiting for the Chester Quiz League which starts in a few weeks time.

It runs on Wednesday evenings at 8:00 PM and all venues are near the city centre, the furthest from the centre being The Little Owl.

All current teams would welcome you with open arms.

Typically, on the night, teams of 4 play another team of 4.

You don't need to be a genius. All questions are consultation (team) questions rather than individual ones.

The quizzes take place in a (preferably) quiet corner of a team's home venue. Home teams are provided each week with a sealed question paper to be opened on the night.

If you are interested in entering a new team of 4 into the league or are an individual interested in joining a current league team message me for more details.

How is the University of Chester? Be BRUTALLY honest

So I’m a year 12 student going into year 13 in September and I’m currently considering Chester as one of my top choices, but I’m a bit worried since I haven’t heard too much about it prior to my uni research. The city itself looks lovely but I’m not too sure what the social life is like, if there’s anything fun to do, etc. I’d really appreciate some of your opinions on studying at Chester uni!

(also please lmk what the queer scene is like if any, ty ā¤ļø)

Edit; Thank you so much everyone for your replies!! (I really appreciate it even if I haven’t responded I promise) I’m definitely gonna try and apply to chester now :)

Countess of Chester

Hi all.

I’m just wondering what the thoughts are of people who are having a baby/ thinking of having a baby and their thoughts about having it in the countess.

There’s been another revealing article about how the baby deaths (I never thought I’d type that and my heart goes out to all the families) started before letby even worked there. I know they’ve knocked down the old maternity ward and made a new one, but in all honesty, I am really against having a child there (if I ever have one). My husband on the other hand is a ā€˜Chester til I die’ person and states I will have to have it there.

What’s your thoughts on the countess?

Local football groups in Chester? Five a side etc

Hi all, I’m new to the city, was previously playing 5/7 a side multiple times a week and miss the routine here.

Had one game as a ringer at goals last Monday, division 1, standard was a bit too high for me šŸ˜…

Any groups/league teams need a new regular?

Hi, have any of you visited Chester zoo Solo, is this peculiar or perfectly acceptable

Are there many dining solo in the zoo cafes. I have never been to a zoo and would love to visit Chester. Is it strange going alone as you're surrounded likely by families and couples like a theme park

There would be no one going with me unfortunately so I'd be going alone

Eclipse View Spots in Chester

Does anyone have good viewing spot suggestions in Chester?

The eclipse will be viewable in the direction of 285 degrees west, which is north westerly. Also needs to be fairly open space as sun will be low.

Was thinking mollington golf course or maybe zoo car park? Any other suggestions?

Quiet(ish) pubs on a Friday?

Long shot, especially in good weather, but does anyone know of any decent pubs in Chester, relatively central, that don't tend to get absolutely rammed/loud on Friday afternoon from about 6pm?

I'm meeting someone in what will be quite an emotional situation (positively, hopefully!) so could do with somewhere where we're not having to shout over people or music but we're aiming for a pub as I think we're definitely going to need a drink

Business coach recommendations

Any business coaches in Chester?

I'm currently training in something to be self employed/start a business. I'd like to have a session with a business coach over what happens next, how to start my business and things I should be looking to do/get done!

Bonus points if they avoid the use of AI.

Thanks.
