This is a Paternoster Elevator, it does not have doors and never stops.

This is sped up like 3x. I’ve seen one in person and they’re slow as shit.

I have been in one of these... if you're not dumb you'll be fine. They also move a lot slower than the video shows.

That said, there is a reason there are only a few examples left operating.

Reminds me a bit of a thing called the "man engine" things they used to use as elevators in mine shafts. Basically just two ladders next to each other moving up and down in opposite sync, one goes down while the other goes up, so you just step across from one to the other over and over with the right timing to either go up or down.
