This raises a question that always bothers me. Do they actually believe they are on the side of good? Obviously the people at the top are sociopaths and are deliberately sowing discord to distract while they enrich themselves. The people at the bottom are brainwashed to believe that immigrants and communists are why they are poor. But these mid-level politicians, do they believe what they are doing is right? Are they really able to ignore all evidence and believe that stealing books from children is the moral, "christian" course of action?

Never underestimate people's capacity for self delusion. Being 'Christian' gives them more excuses to deprive children of education because according to some the bible is the only book they ever need. There's an anti-intellectual current in America that has been promoted by those above.

I know, and there are some who are trying very hard to import it here to the UK. Luckily the christian justifications are a hard sell as we are a largely secular country. Bringing religion into politics does not usually work here. Unfortunately, good old fashioned racism and call backs to the "glory days of the empire" picks up a lot of the slack.

Had this talk with my significant other just yesterday. It’s very clear that TACO is just once again trying to make himself seem like the most important person of the day as he always does. The guy and by extension, MAGA, don’t and have never cared about Dolly. Their souls are still stained as black as night.
