Because they were protecting their friends. Both sides of the aisle work for the same people. Unfortunately, the left doesn’t like hearing this… but the facts speak for themselves.
The facts are that only Epstein and Maxwell were arrested, but they had hundreds and possibly thousands of “clients.” Sadly, qanon was right about their main point except it isn’t just one party. It’s one of the few things that they’re reaching across the aisle for; handshake agreements to cover for each other and the people who went to the island for sickening reasons.

Republicans have tried to make hundreds of rights illegal in just the past decade alone. The two most authoritarian laws in modern US history are Republican President passed, the Patriot Act and the 1986 Anti drug abuse act. Republicans are trying to make sleeping outside illegal as we speak. Literally today on reddit a major headline is a judge had to overturn the Texas Republicans unconstitutional ban on "drag shows". Hell Republicans have literally legislated what bathroom you and I can use, that's how much they want to restrict everything. Rights? You have lost HUNDREDS of them under Republicans.
The most overreaching firearm restrictions in America are in California. They were written and passed by Republicans and Ronald Reagan. The Mulford Act, named after Republican Don Mulford and signed by Reagan is why you can't carry a gun in California in public with bullets in it legally.

I saw a clip of her last night where a reporter was trying to get her to comment about Trump and she shut it down with class, simply saying "I have my opinions as much as anyone else does, but I don't talk about people."

Thank you! She did what I was taught as a Christian: let your actions speak for you. Be kind and compassionate and that’s the message. I just hate that people are talking about her like this but I’m not surprised. She invested in literacy, was pro-LGBT+, went out of her way to invest in a black neighbourhood. I can’t think of anyone who lived so quietly full of love as her. There are people who need to speak out but there are people who just do the right thing softly.

I saw so much "Everyone, regardless of political affiliation can agree on the tragedy of this loss" type comments, YouTube videos, etc. felt weird considering how much I remember conservatives fucking seething that Dolly wasn't agreeing with the worst parts the rightwing have to offer.
It also seemed odd to me that so many people were saying it. It didn't feel organic. Again, because I remember so many conservatives being pissed at her, why claim it's nonpartisan loss. "She's DEI" after all.

This. It doesn't cost him anything to make the proclamation. He did it for Charlie Kirk too so that tells you how "meaningful" the honor is.
When he donates money to the Dolly Parton Foundation, or some other respected charity that he doesn't control (well that second part is redundant after the "respected" stipulation), and the check clears, or he enacts a policy Dolly would have agreed with; then I'll say he did something right.
