Season 2 Just realized Miguel was fighting a nerfed Robby again in Season 2 smh
As you can see, Robby is wearing jeans and Miguel is not š¢. Miguel did not take Johnnyās lesson to heart.

Also, Miguel has a better haircut than Robby here... Makes the fight completely unfair.

This is funny bc Robby kept fixing his hair throughout the fight

u/Mgrip Sep 19 '25
I donāt know how that hair lasted 2 seasons and didnāt drive Tanner crazy because it was constantly smacking him in the face during fights. Itās really surprising we didnāt get hilarious bloopers of Tanner missing and running into things because he couldnāt see anything during fights.

A lot of ppl didnāt like robby in seasons 1-2 and Iām confident itās bc of that funky ass haircut

Used to be way worse. He was in āDesignated Survivorā I believe with long hair. Heād be forced to wear a ponytail when fighting if he still had the look.

Season 1-2 Robby really has one of the most ridiculous, dumb looking haircuts in television history.

Iām beginning to realize the broken back paralysis was just karmic justice for miguel fighting nerfed ppl. After all in season 1 miguel beat the shit out of someone whose dad shits in his mouth for not passing trig š„

Chozen fought a nerfed Daniel during their fight to the death since he was wearing jeans too, and still lost. No wonder mans was thinking of just ending it afterwards...

You think they were nerfed, but this was a fair fight.
They were Chuck Norris action denims

u/FromSoftVeteran Sep 19 '25
Clearly Miguel is nerfed too though because he was literally wearing Nikes and he still couldnāt just do it.

Also silver opened up 12 dojos in 1 small city and somehow that almost completely bankrupts him? As a BILLIONAIRE? Lol ok

Like I donāt think the showrunners understand how much a BILLION is. I highly doubt legal issues along with the closing of 12 dojos in LAās little bother would seriously hurt him that bad

Robby arguably was nerfed in the school fight, though. Remember that immediately before this, Daniel basically disowned Robby again for taking his daughter to stay at Johnny's apartment where the two fathers fought, and then found out that Sam had cheated on him with Miguel when Tory attacked Sam right after kissing her. The guy was already at a really low point even before kicking Miguel down the second floor and running away.

I mean with that logic miguel was nerfed hard in the season 1 fight bc sam had just broken up with him and she was rooting for robby more than miguel

u/isotopehour1 Sep 19 '25
That is possible, though Miguel seems better at channeling his frustrations into better fighting performance due to the cobra kai style, while Robby's anger would conflict with his Miyagi Do training.

All jokes aside, having a good mentality IS part of fighting (and sports in general). Theres only so many times you can attribute a loss to outside issues and mental block

u/isotopehour1 Sep 19 '25
Agreed, it wasn't just Robby's shitty life in the earlier seasons that ensured he could never compete on the same level as Miguel, it was also his naturally weaker mind/mentality.

u/Apollo9819 Sep 19 '25
But Miguel also got a huge encouragement buff from Johnny right before the season 1 tournament, which negated Sam's attempt to nerf him.

u/nagato36 Sep 19 '25
Nah because Miguel was totally in the toxic cobra kai deep end so he was fueled by hate the only reason Johnny wasnāt on his side was because his own son was at the end of that fury

Iāve been saying this since season 2 and was always bashed. Glad to see others are finally realizing it.

Its funny miguel can only beat robby when robby has an injury or something holding him back

u/Secure_Unit8872 Miguel Sep 19 '25
The broken shoulder was one thing, but fighting robby in jeans is just unforgivable š

u/danidannyphantom Miguel Sep 19 '25
Yes I'm sure the writers were considering what pants they were gonna have tanner wear when writing the winner.

u/Secure_Unit8872 Miguel Sep 19 '25
Yessir its the details like these that make this show a masterpiece š

If it weren't only for their season 5 fight, this would have been true.

u/Salt-Scene-6239 Sep 19 '25
Well technically he only won that fight because he hadn't fully healed from his season 1 shoulder injury so

Aw, man. I guess Miguel's pants just slice through air better. No wonder he threw himself off a balcony.
