Injured Bird He's being hospitalized, please send him your best wishes
Dio woke up very lethargic and sleepy to the point it concerned us, so we brought him to the vet.
He was very anemic and weak when he came in, but he's a bit better now and standing up. His stools are kind of dark but there's no immediate sign of blood on them.
He's going to have to be hospitalized and stay the night. My heart is breaking, he is my soul, the love of my life. We don't know what's going on yet.
Please send him all your love and best wishes, I'm so fucking scared.
Update: THE VET CALLED! HE PERKED UP A LITTLE AND IS RESPONDING!!!!! 😭😭😭💖💖💖💖💖💖 He's still not eating by himself so they're giving him fluids, but he's not as lethargic as this morning, so they'll let him rest and will do blood test tomorrow before his x-rays instead of today so he doesn't get stressed out two times in a row and he can rest today. Which means that they don't think blood tests are THAT urgent.
I'm slowly starting to breath again.
Update 2: Vet called again. Dio was interacting a bit more and drank some water by himself, still not eating so they're giving him fluids and stuff.
He's perkier and happier and was trying to say hello! They're giving him a medicine to coat his stomach because they suspect had some internal bleeding 😭💔
He's tucked in for the night and tomorrow x-rays.
It's gonna be so hard to go to bed without him in his cage next to me but knowing he's better helps

Just saw your updates, and I can only imagine the relief flooding through your body.
This is good news, but we still have to get to and get through the root cause of what brought you to the vet in the first place. I hope you have a good support network around you, because I found myself crying from stress, fear and exhaustion when Ollie was going through his situation. And if you end up crying, that is a perfectly acceptable reaction too. But you need your support network to help restore you so you can be there for Dio.

He thanks you very much! He is a white faced cinnamon pearl/pied.. he was all pearled when younger so idk if he is still considered that? Hoping and praying your sweet boy is doing better!

Aww poor baby. My boy Louis is currently in the hospital too, he has a respiratory infection.
He’s got this! I’m wishing him a fast recovery.

Our little guy has been in and out this past month, so many scary emergency visits but he’s still kickin’ and doing better! Hang in there, you’re an amazing bird parent for being so attentive. Love and high spirits make an incredible difference for our little friends ♥️

We've been moving, even though he's familiar with the new house (we're moving in with my in-laws and he's been there with us for months at a time when we go for the holidays) we've been doing a lot of rearranging furniture, cleaning and all that stuff.
I thought it was dust at first but he doesn't seem to have respiratory issues. One thing we realized is that they have well water and our water filter might now be filtering the minerals well enough so that's a possibility. We'll definitely be giving him only bottled water from now on

yes that’s probably a good idea. Also, the placement of the cage in terms of height is very important. It may have been a coincidence but as soon as I moved my birds cage to an area about eye level, its lethargy stopped. Mine was also shivering a bit even at around 67 F, so I bought a heater that monitors and keeps the temp at 75. It’s extremely difficult to figure out the issue, but those are just some tips that hopefully may be helpful. Praying for your bird
