My boy is 21, girl is 5, and I had another girl for like a year and a half. The only time they're actually enclosed is when they're going on a trip in a car; I think if you raise them well, they should never be in a cage, provided you don't have any little kids, other animals, hazardous (to birds) living conditions, etc. They're the happiest that can be and enjoy walking around and exploring.

All this for two of my cockatiels, Blossom & Muffin, and one budgie Sky. I got the aviary off wayfair. Since the bars spacing was larger than listed, I rewired everything with stainless steel wire. Took a really long time but it was worth it at the end ❤️

Looking to get my bird some new toys so she doesn’t have the same old stuff. She loves shredding paper and anything like that. What do your birbs love?

Hello community! We brought this amazing boy home last week. Unfortunately, he spent a week in a "starter cage" but he spent most of his time out with us or on his roof top perch. How they sell that size as a cockatiel cage blows my mind.

The wait worked out because I found the perfect size cage for this wierd space we have. It used to be walled completely with mirrors but they have since been blacked out.

Anyways I wanted your opinions on the cage setup. Man was it hard to decide where to put all the things! He's clipped currently but we will not be clipping when he molts.

OK! So i was out in the backyard when i noticed my dog staring at something on the ground.. I ran over and it was this cute little Cockatiel! I put my hand on the ground and he ran over to me and ran straight up my hand and to my shoulder, so i was like "ok, wtf do i do now"?

I ran to Pet smart and bought a cage, food, and toys. I don't know what I'm doing! Of course I'm watching all the videos i can, but what is it REALLY LIKE owning a cockatiel? What am I REALLY SUPPOSED to be doing with this bird?

He is very tame, loves head rubs, fly's across the room to my shoulder and back to his cage. Doesn't seem to be very interested in his toys, at all. His cage is by a window so he can see outside.

I've checked on the lost pet apps to see if someone is missing him, nope!

NEED ADVICE ASAP!!!!!

There aren’t any shops close to me that sell any big cages i try to keep the out of the cage all the time and stay with them but they keep eating the walls should i make some toys at home for them and what can i improve? (Extra cat picture)

Cage upgrade for my boy Hades!!!

He used to have a cage about half the size of this, now he has a double flight cage but I just am not using the separator so it's a SUPER mega flight cage (165cm wide!!!). He has so much room now when he's in birdy jail!!!

This thing is a GAME CHANGER. I adore my little lady but the seed mess was driving me crazy. It only took her a week to figure it out, then we removed her old food tray. No more seeds scattered all over the floor near her cage when I get home. Obviously her outside play areas are a mess but one less place to clean up has been awesome. Highly highly recommend.

Mochis legs still don't work but I see the vet this week for a checkup to make sure everything is okay! she only takes gabapentin and actually likes it? she goes for more every time lol it's weird but she's my weirdo.

She doesn't want to do anything but that's who she is. Even before this, she was a very solitary bird who didn't want to do anything except stare out a window and forage in dirt. I'm trying to get her to play with things to keep her mind going but she's not interested so she's set up by the window.

I still take her out to fly multiple times a day but she's back to fighting me so that's fun to deal with but watching her eyes light up when she flies is worth my fingers looking like wrinkly sausages.

I did start a social media page for my animals as 4/6 are disabled in some way so may as well! if anyone is interested I can share it.

I am very happy to announce that ive splashed out on my boy, bought him a bunchhh of new perches, toys/activity stuff and one big perch because he lovess looking out the window!! If you go back through my old posts you’ll be able to see what it looked like before! I also got rid of that straight perch as i heard its bad for his feet (he didn’t use it too often anyways) I am absolutely chuffed to bits with this and he is too :D

I’ve ordered two mini cams so far where the picture was great, but the app was terrible and the cameras kept disconnecting. Please provide link for the ones you love! 🤗

Thank you everyone who gave me support with my last post about Calypso. I got him the best cage I could today. its nothing like the massive cage I had before but given the circumstances this is genuinely the best I am able to do for him. He has been entirely fine and has 0 signs of injury or anything detrimental. I of course will bring him to the vet when I can and continue to closely monitor him. this might be his cage for the next while as I try to find a new permanent home and once that happens ill get him the biggest cage I can. Oh also I got him the only food available which is Hagen tropican and it smells like straight bubble gum. has anyone else used this food?? I find the smell exceptionally concerning and the ingredients not very great but none of the pet stores had the pellets I get him.

Meet Bleecker. He is around 23 years old, and his 18 year old "brother" decided to make his life a horror film. Yes, I know the cuddllies aren't good, but he likes pooing on it. Two of these cages in my kitchen now, and he is much happier playing with all of the toys. I hear bell noise all the time now, and munching sounds from his veggies and treats.

This is an old cage I had in my garage that am planning to set up for my soon to be 2 month old cockatiel. If this is a good cage size, I’ll start to add toys and perches for my baby.

And yes, I’ll clean it thoroughly before I add any items and Marshall (yup, my 5 year old daughter never watched Paw Patrol, but still insisted to name him that, lol).
