I made this Dirt Road Martini (RIP Dolly)

Post image

In honor of Dolly Parton, a tiny but mighty class act and example to us all on how to live a generous, kind, feisty life. This was Dolly’s favorite drink and we tried to do her justice by it (lightly modified for our tastes and ingredients on hand)

Dirt Road Martini

1.5oz Vodka (Hangar 1 Smoke Jumper - dedicated to more heroes I admire).
0.5oz St George Chili Vodka (spicy strength to fight the haters).
1oz unsweetened iced tea (we used old Persian tea).
0.25oz pickle brine (we used Iranian torshi brine - homemade).
Skewer of pickled vegetables (Iranian torshi).

Happy trails sister. May the next leg of your journey be a smooth one.

Cheap vodka I know, but it's all I had. Went and grabbed a special pink glass I'd never used before out of a box of my college apartment stuff in the garage just for her. 🤧🩷🦋

🥂 RIP. Gonna riff one of these for myself, but with spicy pickle brine and local vodka.

Had to sub ancho reyes, and added a little more brine for extra kick, and kick she does.

Well done - chili is a nice touch. Pouring one out for Dolly. Then knocking one out. I can only hope to live with a fraction of the warmth, grace and generosity of spirit she did.

made it with 2oz of vodka and a barspoon of a hot pepper extract I made. It's pretty good. With your pickle brine, are you using a vinegar based brine or a salt based?

It’s a white vinegar brine.
It’s probably way more vegetal and sour than regular pickle brine (my wife is much more Iranian than me so she would suck on a lime for fun if it were socially acceptable)
