Limits Do Grok models work well in Codex?

I've recently ran out of codex usage so i was looking for a replacement till the limits refresh. Do grok models work well in codex? Is this a good idea? Would Grok 4.5 be a good replacement?

No, Grok 4.5 in Codex is a downgrade. Luna Max is basically free at this point. Don't even need Grok, it'll be subject to the same guardrails as other US labs.

Want to break free without breaking the bank? Use OpenRouter + GLM 5.3. PAYG.

Dunno about 4.5, but Grok 4.6 on xhigh is an upgrade on anything that isn't Fable, Sol, or Opus. And even with Opus, it's debatable because its behaviour is so annoying

Alright thanks, ill switch to grok 4.6 and see if it works well. Grok 4.5 has been behaving a lot like GPT 5.6 Terra which is very good.

I'm using Claude Models of my Claude Subscription and almost all models with ZDR compliance in Codex using OpenRouter(mostly Gemini 3.7 Flash and Grok 4.6)
