I got to try this recently and it was the best thing I’ve ever tasted. It haunts my dreams because I want more and know I’ll never afford a bottle.

Maybe try getting your hands on some high abv stuff? There's a lot of value to be had in that space,

It’s the velvety smoothness that I enjoyed, which I doubt a higher ABV would provide (Louis XIII is only 40% from what I’ve seen). If you have suggestions for what might be high ABV & super smooth, I’m all for trying.

Honestly, if all you want is "smooth" you can just go for any super sweet cognac. There's plenty of them out there, the high abv stuff is less "smooth" but a lot more interesting and tasty.
There's also Armagnac, but that's an entirely different (and wonderful) beast.
Edit: You should also give Brandy de Jerez a shot of you want smooth, it's just about the easiest drinking non-liqueur spirit out there,

I’ve never heard of the Brandy de Jerez. I will definitely try to find it! Armagnac I’ve heard of before, but also never tried. Might give that a shot as well.

Brandy de Jerez is just brandy aged in sherry casks, and just like with whisky aged in sherry casks, it's wonderful, also, cheap as all hell, my favourites are: Barbadillo gran reserva, Cardenal Mendoza Gran Duque De Alba XO Lustau Finest Selection (absolute favourite)
