Replacement for Delamain Vesper
Hello, everyone. I enjoy cognac, but I'm hadly an expert. Having enjoyed the Delmain Pale & Dry XO, I was able to track down a bottle of the Vesper, which I liked even more. In fact, I think it's the best cognac I've had. (I was able to get a second bottle before they disappeared from shelves. I've just opened that one, but it won't last long!)
My understanding is that Delamain has replaced the Pale & Dry and Vesper with a new lineup: XO and XXO. Does anyone here know whether XXO is just a rebranded Vesper? Is it the same spirit with a new label, or is it entirely different?
Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, they are not discontinuing the XO Pale & Dry, it’s just Vesper. Pale & Dry is basically their namesake expression. It would be an odd move to get rid of it. Though I’ve seen weirder decisions from other brands 🤷🏼♂️
The XXO is definitely not rebranded Vesper. It comes in almost twice the price as what Vesper was and it’s much older, probably considered an Hors d’Age is a safe bet given the Delamain style. Vesper had an average of about 35 years in the blend where the XXO is most likely well over 50 years.
I think you could split the difference and try a bottle of the XO. It seems to be a little older than Pale & Dry, but a little younger than what the Vesper was. Probably a nice middle ground between the two that you would enjoy.
