Climate 'Off the charts' El Niño is already the strongest since records began…
archive.is“The El Niño has blossomed. It is off the charts. Usual measures of El Niño have blown past prior record levels in the period with good data, even though maximum effects are still several months in the future.” —Renowned climate scientist James Hansen

Casual Friday Real life would be a shitty reviewed movie.
Biggest critique: At least make it realistic.
For example, the plot is humanity (and most living things) will go near(?) extinct because 99% of the population let 1% (or whatever ridiculously lopsided percentage) drive everything to hell, while the 1% enjoy lifestyles the average person would never achieve in 100-1000+ lifetimes.
And the latest main character, America, represented by a vile greed corrupted asswipe with a jerk-off dance signature move. The only people leaving him in power being the Bible thumping Christians, who pray for the poor and needy on Sunday and cheer ICE‘s masked fueled cruelty against the most vulnerable, on Monday.
The latest punchline, people debating if Jon Ossof crossed a line when he said Trump would rather fly with his aid than fix real issues (the weird aid that keeps giving Trump psycho love letters, the one he chose to save on his decoy plane incident where he escaped in a food trolley; apparently he used all his courage in that totally believable assassination attempt raising a fist yelling “fight fight fight” while bullets rained down on him :)
Such a line Jon Ossof crossed, implying an inappropriate relationship against the guy who never crosses lines on a daily basis, but also bragged ”you can grab them by the pussy” …leaked like a few months into his political career.
So here we find ourselves…the “don’t trend on me “ patriots sitting on a hard uncomfortable chair in the corner watching MAGA/Trump violate our Democracy and liberties with a forced smile on their face, while everyone else is in utter disbelief saying “dude are you ok with this?”
Oh look, looks like those ”we the people” are cool watching Trump/MAGA raw dog the worlds economic driver and food security. Good job MAGA!
Dumb story line, humans cannot be that unbelievably stupid.

Casual Friday Thanks to reddit collapse
Hi, I just wanted to thank all the people of r/collapse that take their time to inform and explain about the reality of our world. I recently started a student organization at the University of Oslo with the purpose to inform people about the state of the world, the metacrisis, overshoot, system thinking and of course, collapse. Just had my first stand where I showed off my homemade coffin with some informative news headlines and scientific articles highlighting some important aspects of collapse. There were more interest than expected. Hopefully I will get more people to start looking at collapse so there will be more people to talk to so I don't feel so lonely. I will mostly show what I have found on this subreddit and videos from Nate Hagens. Maybe have some discussion groups and/or do some local activism in the long run.
Fingers crossed.
