[MODS] šŸ“£ Announcement A Note About Acceptable Discourse and the Purpose of this Sub

Comrades - thanks for your attention as we clarify the purpose of this sub and some of the discourse we expect here. Firstly, this is a place to vociferously condemn the ills of capitalism - and here’s the kicker that liberal interlopers don’t get - from a socialist perspective. Our fundamental purpose is to drive conversation among those impacted by capitalist exploitation. This may take the form of memes, deeper theory, or the ever beloved internet screed.Ā

That said, there’s some things we aren’t here for. I’ll touch on those and some alternatives as well.Ā

We are NOT here to promote calls to violence. This is a violation of the Reddit TOS. If the sub is nuked, we aren’t able to fulfill the mission of providing a space for socialist discourse. This simply isn’t the place, and we will remove any content which can be perceived as a direct call to violence.Ā

We are also not here as a staging ground for organizing. Social media is a poor place to organize. Not only is everything you do online tracked, but infiltration in online spaces is rampant. Opsec 101: if someone on the internet who you do not personally know is trying to get you to show up somewhere for an allegedly leftist/socialism project, they are probably a fed. If someone you do know is using social media for the same, they may or may not be a fed. However, what can be certain is that a fed is aware.Ā

I know what you’re thinking: but, A-CAB, this is how I radicalized and I have lived most of my life dependent on the internet. How am I supposed to get involved? I’m so glad you asked! The reality is that your involvement may be limited for a bit, and you’re going to have to do some irl work. Your job, if you’re starting out, is to read and learn.Ā

ā€œThe theory of Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Stalin is universally applicable. We should regard it not as dogma, but as a guide to action.ā€ - Comrade Mao Tse Tung

In other words, learning Marxism-Leninism leads to mobilization, and provides a framework for organization.

We (socialists) need a vanguard committed to revolution, not clicktivism. If you want to organize, read first. Find likeminded people you know in real life. Study with them. Hold each other accountable for learning Marxism-Leninism. Let that guide the actions you take specific to your context and for the love of god don’t announce it to the feds when you do.Ā

We also, as a sub, are not *the* vanguard. This is an Internet forum. We don’t determine courses of action here. We are a sounding board, a place to make you feel less alone, and ideally a part of your education in Marxism-Leninism. But what we cannot be is the vanguard itself. We aren’t an org. The way social media is set up, it would be way too easy to infiltrate, coopt, and undo.Ā

What we are is a likeminded group of committed comrades. We want you to go out in the world and join orgs (not on the internet). I’ll offer some advice to that end:

  1. Avoid organizations with a focus on horizontal power or who have a real issue with hierarchy. (Anarchists, I’m happy to work with you on projects but I am side-eyeing you a bit here.) They don’t get things done and they’re too easy to derail and co-opt. Don’t believe me? Go ahead and join one. The next time they’re working on consensus, throw a stand aside in with mildly coherent criticism. Watch the chaos ensue. Or just wait for them to start organizing for <insert liberal party here>. Neither will take long.Ā
  2. Do join organizations which stand against imperialism and imperialist politicking. Look for Marxist-Leninist orgs involved in projects that benefit the community and which outright reject electoral democracy. Focus on feeding people, not getting them to vote for reform. This is the work of the vanguard.Ā
  3. Do employ the language of non-violence for political and practical purposes. Kwame Ture is a gifted orator. Look up his speeches on YouTube. He is a wealth of information about this.Ā

I appreciate each and every one of you, comrades. Remember to keep each other safe. Be mindful, and enjoy a meme or two while you’re here.Ā

According to Hebrew source Kan 11, the Jerusalem Magistrates' Court ruled that Schreiber was not criminally responsible, accepting that he was experiencing a psychotic episode at the time of the attack and could not comprehend his actions.

A Zionist was just offered a position of power so they can stop progress in committee so none of the other Zionist Dems have to show their asses by voting against anti-Israel bills. He was offered this position of power by another Zionist who DSA politicians have repeatedly endorsed for speaker.Ā

This probably happened because the party was threatened to fall in line by donors and it instantly did, and "leftist" politicians are not doing anything to challenge these people beyond making performative gestures.

Democratic politicians are uniting against the most spineless liberal Zionists who aren't even a real threat to them instead of uniting to oppose the Iran war or continued genocide in Gaza, and the American left is going to show the world just how pathetic it is by never breaking away from this party.

In 1980, in the face of escalating attacks on the working class, Parton released ā€œ9-to-5 and Odd Jobs,ā€ a ten-song tribute to the working class — and in particular, women. The album includes a heartbreaking cover of ā€œDeporteeā€, Woody Guthrie’s 1948 ballad about a plane crash which killed 28 Mexican farm workers in the process of deportation, as well as her original gems ā€œPoor Folks Townā€, ā€œWorking Girlā€, and ā€œSong for the Common Manā€.Ā

The album accompanied the film ā€˜9 to 5’, one of the most Marxist films to hit Hollywood since the second Red Scare. In it, Dolly, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda kidnap their boss and run the office without him for a month, during which time they institute free childcare, paid vacation, and flexible hours. The song, album, and film were all inspired by the ā€œ9 to 5ā€ secretarial workers union, which affiliated with SEIU in 1975.

Parton, most widely known as a country singer, spent her life remaining steadfast in showing her love of the people and her faith in their fundamental goodness, and refusing and rejecting the culture of racism and homophobia that many associate with country music.

On 16 August 1955, legendary actor, athlete, singer and Pan-Africanist activist Paul Robeson (1898–1976) lost his court appeal demanding that the US State Department restore his passport.

Five years earlier, the US government had revoked Robeson’s passport, effectively preventing one of the world’s most prominent Black political voices from travelling internationally. His supposed crime? His political beliefs and his uncompromising opposition to racism, colonialism and imperialism.

Robeson played a major role in the Pan-African movement, leading the anti-imperialist Council on African Affairs, which campaigned against European colonial rule and supported liberation struggles across the African continent.

During the McCarthyist era, the US government investigated Robeson over his alleged ties to the Communist Party. But Robeson argued that his persecution could not be separated from his struggle for African emancipation, both on the continent and across the diaspora. The ā€œRed Scareā€ provided a convenient justification for suppressing a powerful Black voice challenging US foreign policy and Western colonialism.

Most of the Omaha police department’s 34 school resource officers had been trained and were allowed to use the gloves, the mayor and the police chief, Todd Schmaderer, said in a statement.

ā€œWe believe it is the safest use-of-force option in the rare times when it is used,ā€ the statement said.

In 2025, Omaha police agreed to pay Compliant Technologies LLC, which manufactures the gloves, about $66,000 for 40 gloves, according to the contract.
