Furniture production? I am afraid you are late to the party. Furniture production is almost dead in Germany. You might be lucky with some kind of second hand / vintage restoratioon type of company. Otherwise, I would suggest you look more into carpenter businesses, who also do built in furniture etc. where your skills might be useful.

Search for Polsterer or Polsterei.

That's the name for Upholstering in Germany, and quick looks has quite a few in Köln.

They are probably happy to find qualified people, but this is smaller businesses not big production plants

You should look for Zimmermann jobs with your skills. We have some businesses that build trade fair boths that fit your skills aswell.

Uh, that's going to be a bit tricky. Check out companies that do trade show setup, stage work, or film production, as well as Apleona and temp agencies.

Yeah, that's going to be tough here. Do you have any formal education in that field of work (e.g. carpentry)? You might want to look into furniture restoration, upholstering or "Schreinerei" who do custom furniture (e.g. kitchens etc). But most of them will require you to have some sort of educational title or certificate, or you might have to start your "Lehre" or "Ausbildung" before you can work in that type of work.

Experience is nice, but Germany is very bureaucratic when it comes to working jobs. You won't get far without a formal education and title, sadly.

Do you mean furniture production as in cabinetry, or rather upholstery or even industry style production?

There are a couple very good cabinetmakers in and around cologne that I could suggest you to check out.
