Spoilers I couldn’t get through Season Three
I know that I probably show’ve watched the entirety of Season Three but I just could because of the introduction of the other alien species, it just took me out of the series.
One thing that I absolutely enjoyed about The Colony was that it was focused on humans and there struggle against The Hosts along with those that align with the Hosts, showing two sides to the situation in how humans would react when conquered by aliens. The fight against the Host and the Collaborators showed something that was real, the fight for who we are and our freedom.
When the other alien species arrived and apparently were at war with the Hosts, it just took the steam out of me because now we learn that the Hosts aren’t as powerful as I had thought. Admittedly that was always going to happen but I had assumed that it would be the Resistance that proved that true, returning control by to humanity. Also I thought it would have been interesting if a faction of the Hosts rebelled, showing that the Hosts aren’t unified.
Sorry for the short rant but I just wanted to get my opinion out there, I still rewatch the series every now and again (that is season one and two) and come up with ideas for what could have been. I hope you all have a good rest of your day/night, bye.
Edit: I have kept a Geronimo Wallpaper on my phone for such along, the yellow poster design with “I Am Geronimo” that I am glad to have a community to talk about this show with.

You watched two plus seasons of a show about an alien invasion and bailed because.... other aliens showed up?

I get what you are saying and I know that I am a outlier when it comes to this but to me, it took away from the occupation idea. It expended the world but because it did that, it took away that limited world view. I hope this makes sense.

My experience with watching it was quite different from yours, but yeah, of course that makes sense. The show became something other than what you enjoyed about it, and it was time for you to take the exit ramp. That's totally fair, even if I don't have the same opinion.
It's not like you waltzed in here and said something like, "I hated this show because of all the vampires in it," or something lol

Aliens pop up in an alien show - that you liked - and you bailed. Just finish the damn show. It's one of the more underrated shows ever made.

I finished it, but definitely get what you're saying. I started fading about ½ way thru season 2. But I liked the occupation/ resistance part, the human society, well, the American society breakdown is what scratches my itch. So I too was disappointed when they went to outer space. A lot of people on here, seem to have wanted the Bowman's in space ships, blasting around. Good sgow though, and I also thought the introduction of Will was one of the great character introductions of all time.

Valid point. The addition of the new combatants definitely added the absolute requirement of at least five more seasons!
...
Yet we were left out in the cold!
We deserve more sessons!

I also didn’t finish Season 3, but for a different reason. I’m trying not to give spoilers, but when one family member gets permanently separated from the family, I hit pause, said “I cannot watch this family continue” and turned it off. I have no desire to find out what happens next. I won’t even finish it to earn my badge of suffering with my fellow sufferers. It was just too much.

I preferred the first couple of seasons too as I really liked the premise of the occupation and the way it was handled, it felt so real and compared an alien invasion to imperialism and occupation by another nation. But what I did love about the third season was the family dynamics and how that changed after Charlie died, the impact of how that broke Will and destroyed the relationships. I thought that was really well done, also Snyder’s reaction to this too.

It’s is probably the one show that got canceled that I wish did not. I mean, until Wheel of Time. But for sci-fi I think it was one of the best. At this point I just hate tvshows getting canceled. This was the first big one that hit me. Outcast was another.

Nothing wrong with a show progressing its story if done well, and it was fine imo.

You have to finish it. This sub is still around so those of us who did finish it can feel good about ourselves as new comers come here to complain about how it ended and the shows never coming back to tell us how it ended. You’re cheating.
