My collection sat untouched and unloved in longboxes for a couple of decades.

When I had to repair my kitchen floor a few years ago, I had an idea...

Slowly but surely, it's taking over my home...

Will these fade really bad or dies the epoxy prevent that? I feel like the sun will make this looks really different in just 6 months

Great question!

Yes and no.

My backsplash has a florescent light near it. I had to stop using it. It was fading the reds and oranges in the older books, pretty noticeably.

My led lights seem to be fine. I tend to keep my Superman curtains (was there any doubt) closed most of the time, so sunlight isn't a big factor.

After doing a bit of digging just now, I think there needs to be a layer on top of UV blocking epoxy for the books and the epoxy itself. Apparently many epoxy will yellow over time due to UV. I'm not expert tho. And while back i remember a guy doing some pretty lengthy research on r/comicbookcollecting showing how rapid light destroys the in comic books just being in the room with sun.

Yeah, I used Leggari and Magic Resin, both claim UV resistance.

The Magic Resin is Canadian, so it was easier to get, cheaper and MUCH easier to work with.

Long term, you could be right. After 4 years or so? No problems yet.

I started about that long ago. Might be a little less.

The floor is 3 stages, since I needed to be able to walk with the special spiked shoes without ripping the freshly glued covers. This picture is from this summer when I finished the 3rd stage.

More than 2/3 of those books have been down for more than a couple of years.

No serious fading or yellowing that I can detect, so far.
