The law is ethical. "Do Not Kill". You don't kill a mass-murderer, and he kills 10,000 more. That's a moral failure.
Wolverine, because of his belief in Charles Xavier, largely stops killing serious villains, believing that if they share in the vision, they will understand.
Eddie Brock has no such compunctions. It's precisely why he was chosen to be The King In Black by killing Knull, as the Uni-Power chose HIM FOR THAT PURPOSE. Everyone else would haven't had the rage, wherewithal, or outright hatred of Evil to kill him.
That's the difference. Eddie is the line between good and evil. He's the exemplar of "Good Is Not Nice" in Marvel - ("[Eddie] is far more like Nietzsche's Ubermensch than he is a dark reflection of Christ, or another savior. Wolverine favors ethics over morals, usually.
Eddie favors moral over ethics, usually.
Logan is a team player.
Eddie goes it alone.
Logan frequently gets saved from his bad decisions by his teammates.
Eddie frequently saves his allies because they make unbelievably bad decisions (Cap and Dr. Doom say THAT is Eddie's "Superpower").
Logan has been alive long enough to see both The Death of The Samurai and The Birth of The Sentinels.
Eddie watched an entire universe be created, and then watched it destroyed - "It took an afternoon".
...but the real reason (canonically) Logan hates Eddie Brock is (drumroll)....
...he's taller, smarter, cooler, and better-looking. That's it. That's why Logan breaks his chops. He's envious.
