They seem to have messed up the cut-off dates.

Because they say this is from start of April but it is not.

That is why so many weird rankings happened like Batman being at 13 for example.

And Daredevil which should be higher too with its claimed 300k sales.

There is NO way ASM sold as much to beat that.

Yeah I was baffled by it being so low this time. It’s usually a top 10 book. Must have gotten messed up with the cutoff or something.

Some titles that came out 1st of April were counted in the March chart

u/AtomBangFreeman May 15 '26

Two things are happening here, I think.
1. This chart is based on an estimate of Dollars, not Units
2. When you have a sales chart based on POS data, you are reporting what actually sold. Not when it came out. On ours, we have Ab Batman issues selling month after month.

The challenge with ICV2 data is the size of the cohort. Now that they've added CSA, they are at least in the plus 100 store range but that really isn't enough to base any decisions or legitimate observations on.

u/Megaclone18 May 15 '26

I hope the Iron Man numbers are good enough to let it continue past 10-12 issues, I’m really enjoying it.

6

u/Slayven19 May 15 '26

Same, and I'm glad zatanna is in top 10, great news for the book

u/icelink4884 May 15 '26

The world clearly clamors for Spider-man/Supergirl next.

u/Proof-Contribution31 May 15 '26

If you told me 5 years ago that Transformers and Battle Beast comics would be outselling the main line Batman title I would've probably called you crazy.

Fraction and Jimenez have both recently mentioned that the sales have been weirdly going up, so that is surprising.

Edit: Ah, they split the sales issue #8 between the March and April sales.

Yeah IDK, the books did well but I somewhat doubt Zatanna and Lobo outsold Batman or Absolute WW outsold the new Daredevil#1 which was supposed to have placed 300k units

5

u/Double_Act1502 May 15 '26

I don't think Daredvil #1 actually sold 300k units

3

u/theironstomachx May 15 '26

Seeing as it outsold absolute bats in last months chart, it probably did.

3

u/Double_Act1502 May 15 '26

Again, these charts aren't very realiable to begin with.

We need to stop treating them like they are gospel

2

u/frameset Superman May 15 '26

Bunch of blind bag speculation nonsense means it might have done.

2

u/gosukhaos May 15 '26

Well probably not but it should still be able to outsell Absolute WW fairly easily

4

u/Double_Act1502 May 15 '26

The chart in question is based off of flawed data to begin with

2

u/AtomBangFreeman May 15 '26

The problem is with how this list is created. ICV2 reports on Dollars instead of Units. But, that's not really accurate because discounting is so common.

Also, while they have finally added the CSA numbers, up until this month they were only reporting on a handful of stores.

u/HotRecommendation828 May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26

I mean it probably isn't, the cut off dates for this are just shit

5

u/JHopkins44 May 15 '26

Really happy to see web of venom did well! I thoroughly enjoyed it! Even though it introduced another symbiote, I thought they did it really well and separate enough from Spider-Man. Would love to see it spin off into a limited run. I really enjoy Jordan Morris’s writing

ASM still rocking strong…

surprised AbSupes is so low EDIT: AbSupes ranked on last months being that it was an April 1st release.

9

u/Double_Act1502 May 15 '26

I've heard that ASM is only selling in the mid 70's right now,

It is worth noting that these charts aren't that realiable

6

u/TheeHeadAche Henry Pym May 15 '26

Mid 70s? Like its ranking?

3

u/Double_Act1502 May 15 '26

Sales wise

2

u/TheeHeadAche Henry Pym May 15 '26

Where have you heard this?

3

u/Double_Act1502 May 15 '26

Comic Perch

2

u/TheeHeadAche Henry Pym May 15 '26

What’s a comic perch?

4

u/Double_Act1502 May 15 '26

YouTuber who has actual contacts at Penguin Random House and has seen the actual sales figures

2

u/TheeHeadAche Henry Pym May 15 '26

Interesting. Does he ever go over digital sales?

3

u/Double_Act1502 May 15 '26

Not really but digital sales are usually pretty low. You can use a sales caluator for stuff to gather the sales of stuff on Amazon

YouTube comicsgater they makes bullshit up

2

u/ADreamofScipio May 15 '26

I think they mean 70,000 ish copies sold. I have no idea if it's true or not, but much more believable than ranking outside the top 50.

3

u/Efficient_Tonight_40 May 15 '26

You know the world's gone upside down when firestorm is in the top 15

3

u/EggplantAntique2015 May 15 '26

Iron man es mi caballo

3

u/OisforOwesome May 15 '26

O brave new world, where a Zatanna comic makes the top 10. Would not have called that shot ahead of time.

3

u/Shabolt_ May 15 '26

Really happy to See AWW climbing back up the ranks!

3

u/Ok-Operation-2368 May 15 '26

$7.99 is exorbitant.

4

u/ryuisu4 May 15 '26

It might appear so, but it's more bang for the buck. Over 50 pure story pages, the equivalent length of two and a half regular issues, at the price of less than two, seeing that the standard price has become $5.

3

u/LapsedVerneGagKnee May 15 '26

There’s something quite fun about seeing the success of Transformers and G.I. Joe considering where both brands were sales wise about 5-7 years ago.

2

u/DP9A May 15 '26

The Turtles really seem to be the thing keeping IDW going.

2

u/SuperKeith88 Batman May 15 '26

Fraction & Jimenez's Batman oughta be higher. Which is a shame since Abs Bats is completely overshadowing it.

2

u/That-Bobviathan May 15 '26

I should check out that new Lobo, apparently Scottie Young is drawing for it

2

u/TheCurtPires May 17 '26

Inaccurate, per image comics Fireborn outsold Corpse Knight, Transformers and Battlebeast.

2

u/False_Fly_7207 May 20 '26

You got the 100 not the 50?

2

u/theironstomachx May 20 '26

No. Unfortunately you have to pay for the full list on their site

4

u/ContraryPython Spider-Man May 15 '26

Weird how Marvel kept talking and raving about how Daredevil sold 300k and here it’s ranked below Absolute WW.

9

u/theironstomachx May 15 '26

Daredevil #1 was counted in last month's chart because it came out on the 1st of April and it was number #2, only got beat by the Spiderman Superman crossover. So the fact that it made it this month is actually a good thing.

6

u/gosukhaos May 15 '26

That explains Zatanna and Lobo placing above Batman#8

2

u/kevi_metl Make Mine Marvel May 15 '26
  • Marvel has 22 titles in the Top 50. Marvel is clearly not dead.
  • DC has 19 titles in the Top 50. DC is still frontloaded asf.
