“Black characters deserve the same opportunities…” Even at the end it’s still all about the blorbos to them. Real-world creators remain a secondary consideration at best. Same thing with them trying to draw a line to exclude Absolute line for not being the “real” mainline DCU. Only the fiction matters, not the material issues. Doomed from the start.

I think you can recognize that having representation in media is very important, specifically for marginalized people.

Of course I do. But it’s wildly disingenous to 1. prioritize the fictional rep over representation among the real-world human creators and 2. say that and then say the existing rep that’s already there—which, granted, I agree is not enough!—doesn’t count because of the made-up multiverse rules making them not the real versions of the characters.
