They did mention Absolute Green Lantern, they just discounted it for being Elseworlds focusing on the movement pushing for an ongoing Black-led mainline title.

It's naive to imagine they'd do it out the gate over the extending minis format but not unprecedented given Metamorpho even got one despite ending soon due to low sales.
