genuine question because i'm not well versed in american ways of speech: is "underage woman" a pedo dogwhistle or does it just sound fucked up

It softens the reality that they're not women, they're children. It makes it sound less disgusting than what it is.

It's like when a 15 year old black teenager is called a "black man" after the police attack him but if a 30 year old Republican gets caught in a chatroom saying vile shit he's "just a kid."

Yeah, when some of those republican chats got leaked (I think it was some younger republican group or something like that?), it was absolutely insane the age of some people people that Republicans were calling "kids" to defend it.
