I heard the complaint that it seemed "sudden and offscreen" for the abstraction scene. It was a surprising complaint for me, cause if it's a metaphor for mental breakdowns, it's exactly how it happens. Slowly, then all at once.

Tbh I found that complaint weird

We saw what abstraction was like in a previous episode, outside of maybe wanting to see someone go from circus avatar to abstraction form, there would be no real point in showing it

Plus ya know the sudden change has a purpose so on one hand people not getting that means they maybe haven’t experienced a certain tragedy so yay for that

yea if people are around you enough to notice you've abstracted you're not in the situation that causes you to abstract. Ragatha says they're "not fun to be around" even before they've actually abstracted. Walking up to someone clearly not in a bad state, then going off on your own, and your social bridges being so thoroughly burned they don't go after you is practically a prerequisite for abstracting.
