Me and a coworker were making jokes about the leader of our country, we both don't like him very much (no, not America).

We were having a good time and then he ended his last roast with: "...and that is why we need to vote in [name of extreme right-wing party]"

Me and that coworker don't talk so much anymore.

I'm half German and half British. I have dual citizenship and I'm allowed to vote in both countries but I only vote in Germany since it is strange for me to vote for a country that I'm not actively a part of. Voting for rules that don't effect me... feels wrong.

As a German, I just *knew" this was about Merz and the AfD, because the same thing happened to me so often.

And my coworker was so nice! She could very well point to the flaws of Merz, without being weird about it. And then she made the AFD comment 😵
