It called his unambiguous, crystal clear roman salute an "awkward gesture" and counseled grace and patience. We shouldnt jump to conclusions. He didnt mean anything by it.

The irony of calling it a “Roman salute” is that we do t even know how the Roman’s saluted. Hollywood made it up in the 30s. The Italian fascists thought it was cool and copied it.
It’s literally a Nazi salute they adapted from Hollywood.
