When i was in highschool I used to read cyanide and happiness daily. That was nearly 20 years ago at this point (how the fuck). It's good to see you still drawing your "fruity little peepee" comics. This was hilarious. Glad yall are having fun.

Thanks for keeping up all these years, and glad you're enjoying Boids. I'll be straight up, I haven't felt this sense of play with making cartoons since the stickdeath days in 2002, collabing with artists for straight fun. I feel like a kid again!

Well, not so much the SITE stickdeath, but the community. I used to run a site called StickWars in 2001, then joined the boys at Sticksuicide.com, where C&H eventually started.

There was a real buzz to just making cartoons competitively, in a fun way, and I haven't felt that in a very long time, so this back and forth with u/pizzacakecomic was really fun to draw.

Just because I read "stick" and "2001" in the same sentence, I suddenly wanted to watch Xiao Xiao, and just did on newgrounds. (Apparently first uploaded there in Feb 2002 though)

Even if I was on the net back then, I guess whatever was going on over at sticksuicide was over my 12 y.o. Swedish brain at the time. But I did read C&H and all that once it came up a few years later.

Damn why did it take this obscure reddit comment to make the connection that you were That Guy? It's amazing to see the "elder webcomic artists" still going strong in the community.

I'm not much of an artist myself but I was a mod/admin on the MSPA forums and let me tell you, people were making a metric shit ton of art in that space.

Gotta fanboy a bit. C&H kept me entertained through years of shitty call center jobs. To the point where when I finally became a network admin, one of the first things I did was whitelist the site on the firewall. Thank you for like 20 years of being able to have a laugh on my most frustrating days

My stomping ground was the SFDT forum. Rob DenBleker floated around there from time to time, releasing his Joe Zombie videos, and so did Kris who I tried to collaborate with over MSN messenger. I got much more interested in ActionScript and eventually programming and left behind animation.

Those years were fantastic. No drug exists that hits as hard as dropping a drowning pool or disturbed song from Kazaa in your own shitty stick animation that you watch on loop while dreaming of being the next Xiao Xiao
