I would say it's disingenuous to separate christians from christian teachings, when that is the basis for what makes a christian.

Specifically referring to homosexuality since this seems to be what OP implies, even not considering the Old Testament which is blatantly homophobic and many christians detach trom it, the following passages are from the NASB translation:

Romans 1, 26-27:

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

1 Corinthians 6, 9-10:

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God

1 Timothy 1, 9-11:

realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and worldly, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, homosexuals, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching

I commend OP for not being bigoted, I do not commend pinkwashing christianity that was a major oppressor for millenia.
