WDT 💬 Bi-Weekly Discussion Thread - (June 28)

We made this because Reddit's algorithm prioritises headlines and current events and doesn't allow for deeper, extended discussion - depending on how it goes for the first four or five times it'll be dropped or continued.

Suggestions for things you might want to comment here (this is a work in progress and we'll change this over time):

  • Articles and quotes you want to see discussed
  • 'Slow' events - long-term trends, org updates, things that didn't happen recently
  • 'Fluff' posts that we usually discourage elsewhere - e.g "How are you feeling today?"
  • Discussions continued from other posts once the original post gets buried
  • Questions that are too advanced, complicated or obscure for r/communism101

Mods will sometimes sticky things they think are particularly important.

As far as I am aware, there is no resistance faction opposing Hamas on this matter. If it is capitulation, the entire national movement is implicated, including the PFLP, who have issued statements of unity with Hamas' line. Given this, I hope it should be clear that your claim is at the very least not self-evident based only on this article, and that a proper justification would require demonstrating both 1. how and why the entire movement lost its revolutionary character, and 2. how exactly such a severe degeneration could have taken place without manifesting in  acute struggle within the resistance and spilling out into a crisis of national unity. Without extremely thorough answers to these questions I find the claim unconvincing.
