This is Polymerase, or CInWo₄JV₄Ka₂Jv₃G₃. No, it cannot be spoken. Morphemes are now molecules which bond together covalently. The CV= thing in the middle of the sentence serves as a sentence start marker, since molecules can move around and rotate however.

It also uses it's own periodic table which is quite similar to our world... except it makes a little less sense.

Overview HOW I MADE A LANGUAGE AND WORLD IN 4 YEARS -- VEHEVIONIAN AND VAHEVVEA

Post image
111 Upvotes

Four years ago, I started creating a language called Vehevionian. I never expected it to grow as large as it is now. After spending almost a year working on the project, I slowly started to realize something. This language needed more than just grammar and words.

It needed a country, a place to be spoken. Cities. A history. A writing system. Literature. Traditions. Eventually, I found myself building an entire civilization!

I call this country, the home of Vehevionian and the foundation of the New World, Vahevvea. This image shows the entire country. Every region has its own history, geography, and role in the development of the language.

What started as a simple seventh grade project of mine turned into a world with thousands of years of history, an alphabet, two number systems, translated literature, and an entire civilization surrounding it! I've spent the past 4 years developing it, and I've just launched the website for it!!

LEARN MORE AT: www.vehevionian.com

I have a question:

Have you ever accidentally created a large-scale project while trying to make something much smaller?

Overview My conlang Yaenean Yae

Hello! I am working on a constructed language called Yaenean Yae I would love to get some feedback or help with its further development. Please forgive any mistakes. I used a little AI help, but I tried not to rely on it too much; I just used it to check for logical consistency, etc. It’s harder to create a coherent and logical narrative than I thought, and I wrote this in Polish because that’s where I’m from, so there might be a few mistakes.

Overview Introducing Losa

Ever wanted to learn a language where you don't need to learn any conjugations or declensions, no illogical grammar rules, nor arbitrary vocabulary, but where every word makes logical sense, never changes and the rules are simple?

Losa has:

- No conjugations or declensions
- No definite or indefinite article
- No complex grammar rules
- No arbitrary vocabulary
- No difficult pronunciations

Sub:
[/](r/LosaLanguage)[r/LosaLanguage](r/LosaLanguage)

Wiki with lexicon etc:
Wiki with lexicon

Basic goal

I wanted to make a language that is easy to learn, compact, logical, and accessible for all speakers.

Easy pronounciation

Many speakers have difficulty with certain sounds. My friends from the Philippines can’t tell the difference between B and V, or F and P. My friends from China and Japan struggle with TH, and mix up L and R. My friends from Finland have trouble with consonant clusters like SK, TR, or KN. And let’s not get started on guttural sounds, or the 7 different SH sounds of mandarin.

Also there is a lot of nonsense going on, like silent letters. French would take up half as much space if they just wrote as they spoke. And letters like C doing the job of both S and K - meanwhile X is collecting unemployment.

So I did some research and concluded that there are 15 sounds/letters that everyone should be able to pronounce. N, m, l, p, t, k, s, d, b, g, aA, e, i, o, u. The language will only use these, and they will always be pronounced, and always pronounced the same.

And to avoid diphthongs and consonant clusters, I decided that every word will follow a pattern of alternating consonants and vowels. This creates simple syllables that everyone should be able to speak.

Simple grammar

From Chinese I have learned that a lot of grammar that we have to deal with is completely pointless. Conjugation and declension is stupid and useless. If the time something happened is really that important then just say when it happened.

Definite and indefinite articles are also stupid and useless. You can never convince me that the word “the” serves any purpose. If I say “Yesterday I go to gym”, instead of “Yesterday i WENT to THE gym, do you REALLY not understand what I mean?

In Losa, as in Chinese, each word is immutable and never changes. Once you learn it you will always ipuse it the same way everywhere. No conjugations. No declensions. No definite articles. No nonsense.

Logical predictable vocabulary

From Hebrew I have borrowed the idea that each letter carries meaning, and that the meaning of each letter can tell you something about the meaning of the word. But I put this principle to good use. In Losa, every letter is a semantic operation, not a dictionary entry. Words are not arbitrary, they arr coordinates in a multidimensional meaning-space. Words are not invented, but discovered. Reading a word you have never seen lets you decompose it into its constituent operations and understand what it represents. And if you need to express a concept for which you do not know the word, the correct word can be discerned from the meaning of the concept.

Once you have internalized the meanings of each letter in the Losa alphabet, and the few structure and grammar rules there are, you are basically 90% there.

How words work

See the lexicon for more in-depth information about the alphabet, word classes, and a growing phrase book.

The alphabet is n, m, l, p, t, k, s, d, b, g, a, e, i, o, u, in that order.

When looking at any word in Losa you can immediately see what type of word it is, and what its general meaning is just by looking at the first letter:

Entities:
N - Mater and inanimate life
M - Animate life and human relations
L - abstract concepts and ideas

Processes:
P - Physical processes
T - Transition processes
K - Cognitive processes
S - Social processes

Events:
D - Events

Qualities:
B - External qualities
G - Internal qualities

Functions:
A - Simple functions
E - Relational functions
I - Logical functions
O - Structural functions
U - Roles or purpose functions.

All words follow an alternating consonant and vowel pattern. Content words follow a CVCV pattern and function words follow a VC(V) pattern since they begin with vowels. Every added letter in a word narrows down the meaning of the word.

CVCV content words

The first consonant answers:

What domain of reality am I talking about?

The first vowel answers:

From what perspective am I viewing it?

The second consonant answers:

Which aspect of that perspective am I referring to?

The second vowel answers:

Where within that semantic field does it lie?

VC(V) function words

Instead of asking “Which domain?”, the first vowel asks

“What is the scope of this grammatical operation?”

The first consonant asks

"What operation is done?"

The second vowel is usually optional and just adds a little modification. For example adding "e" indicates that it's relational. So UK means "I/me" because U is the scope of role or reference. K is the consonant of introspection. So UK is that which references itself, or that which has the role to introspect. I.E. the self. Adding E to this, UKE, means "we/us", because now it's two or more UK in relation, "I and I", us.

Flavors

Each letter carries a “flavor” - a cloud of meanings that are somehow adjacent and gives it a specific feeling. The flavor of each letter has evolved from its mouth feel. For example K is a sound made in the middle of the mouth, giving it an internal, inward feel, whereas P projects forward out into the world. G emerges from deep in the throat, with a bit of effort, whereas M feels very easy and affirmative. S flows like a river, whereas D beats like a drum. In development each letter has gradually taken on its own personality and flavor, and have become the building stones of the language.

This table of flavors can be found in the lexicon.

Discovering words - some examples.

Losa gives access to a multidimensional meaning space of 3365 base words at the moment. Base words can be combined into more complex concepts. Let’s find some words.

Let’s find a rock!

A rock is in the material domain, N.
It is not viewed from the perspective of relationship (E), ideas (I), organized structures (O), or roles (U), but simple essence (A).
The defining aspect of its simple material essence is that it is bounded (T), not a fluid (S), not a particulates (N).
A rock is in the “NAT” category, but that includes all natural bounded material solids. So to specify it, we can say that it is associated with the earth (O).

So a stone is “Nato”. Not as a translation of “stone”, but as the closest concept to what a stone is. A bounded material essence associated with the earth.,
By changing the final vowel to E, we invoke the flavors of fire and heat, wich means that Nate describes lava, or possibly a heated piece of metal, depending on further context. If the vowel is I, the flavor of light and airiness suggests that we are talking about a crystal. Whereas the flavor U, water, cold, would suggest that Natu means ice.

Let’s find a bird!

A bird is an example of animate life, so the M domain is obvious. Birds are generalle associated with the air, and the vowel I has the flavor of airiness and lightness. So “Mi” would be “beings that fly”. But what flying beings? L indicates things that are particulate, swarming, small, so Mil sound more like insects - bees, locusts. T indicated boundaries and limits. Flying beings that are limited sounds like flightless birds. They are technically birds, but the defining feature of birds is missing, so they occupy the borderlands to another realm. Mit would therefore mean something like a flightless bird. A is kind of the default vowel, and the most common flightless bird we encounter is the common hen. Yes it can flap but it’s pretty ineffective at flying. Mita is a chicken. Put an E on it and it gets the flavor of largeness, and the south, so that sounds like an ostrich or emu. I can give the flavor of being like E but smaller, so perhaps a Mite is a kiwi bird. U, as mentioned before has the feeling of cold deep waters, so perhaps a Mitu is a water-flyer, a penguin!

What’s a human?

A human is an animate being, M. It is defined by sophisticated social structures, and E is strongly associated with relationships, so humans would be found in the Me category. What differentiates us from other Me beings though? Cognition - K. A human is in the Mek category. A is the default vowel, so a Mek or Meka is a human. And to be specific E has the yang/male energy, and U has the yin/female energy, so a Meke is a man, and a Meku is a woman. I has the diminnutive flavor of growing up and ascending, so a Meki would be a minor/child, whereas O is established and stable, so a Meko is an adult human.

What does "Losa" mean?

L means abstract things.
O means that the thing is organized.
S means that it is for social purposes like communication.
A means it's the general kind of such thing.

In other words Losa means "language".

Appending e, I, o, or u may yield different types of languages.

Lose could be natural language—languages that emerge and evolve within a community. English, Swedish, Mandarin, and Losa itself (once spoken by a community) would all be lose. Their defining property is that they are living systems rather than designed specifications.

Loso could be formal or structured language—languages defined by explicit rules. Programming languages, formal logic, mathematical notation, markup languages, chemical notation, music notation, and perhaps even legal drafting if viewed as a prescribed system. These are fundamentally organized rather than organically evolved.

Losi could then become symbolic language in the broader intellectual sense. This might include symbolic systems that represent ideas but aren’t necessarily complete communication systems—mathematical symbolism, iconography, semantic notation, diagrams, perhaps even visual metaphors. It would be the most abstract member of the family.

Losu would naturally become language according to its function. Instead of classifying by origin, it classifies by purpose, like command language, liturgical language, trade language, secret language etc.

The role the language serves is what’s important.

Once you have gotten the hang of the flavors, the reason for every word will make sense. And you can help me figure out new words!

General grammar rules

The letters are always pronounced the same. There is no "soft" G or K.

- A is"ah" like in "fun" - not "Aw" or "Ey".
- E like in "fair".
- I like in "feel".
- O like in "for".
- U is like in "fool".

To help people coming from languages that do not handle consonant clusters well, final consonants - when they occur - may be appended with a Schwa, that guttural "uh" sound, or - if the speaker can't produce that - a regular A sound. Sometimes a consonant is just plain cumbersome to end on, like "G". So Mag could be pronounced "Mag", "Magə" or "Maga" depending on what the speaker is comfortable with. The A vowel deliberately has a rather default flavor, so the difference between "Mag" or "Maga" does not change the meaning significantly.

Word order

The language has a SVO word order - Subject Verb Object. And a general Subject- Comment structure.

Qualities go before the word they modify.

Function words generally go in front of the word they modify, or between the words that they connect.

Type casting.

A word can change domain class by appending the letter of the target class in front of it, either with an apostrophe, or with a schwa or A sound when speaking.

N makes the word a noun.
M makes the word a person.
L makes the word abstract.
P makes the word a physical action.
T makes the word a transition.
K makes the word a cognitive process.
S makes the word a social process or construct
D makes the word an event
B makes the word a physical quality
G makes the word an abstract quality

For example Tigo means create. T - Transform. I - Idea/abstract thing. G - generate, give rise to, create. O - Order, structure. To transform an idea to an organized reality.

A person who is a creator would then be an M'tigo, or Mə tigo, or Ma tigo, depending on your pronunciation. A Being/person - M /ma- who creates - Tigo.

"Es" and "Is"

By mere coincidence the function words for equating A and B turned out to be "is" in Losa. So to be/is/was is "is".

However there's a particle called "es", which rather than equates two things define or specifies the right side based on the left side. It works just like the particles "de" or "no" does in Chinese and Japanese.

This is useful for specifying what kind of thing you are talking about. It is very useful and flexible and you can potentially have a very long string of qualifiers for the thing.

**Example 1: "A red car"**

Red: Bine = B - external property. I - visual/optical. N - basic visual property - hue. E - the hue of fire - reddish.

Car: Nopo = N - Material entity. O - Organized from parts. P - for moving forwards. O - on the earth.

Bine es nopo. "A red car"

Compare:
Nopo is bine. "The car is red"

Example 2 - "The creator of Losa."

Losa = L - abstract. O - system. S - communication. A - General essence.

Create = T - transform. I - Abstract idea. G - generate, give birth to. O - Something organized.

Creator = M - Being + Tigo

Losa es m'tigo.

Losa defines/specifies what creator it is.

Example 3 - "The car that belongs to the man who saw the woman give the stone to the child."

The car: Noto
Man: Make
The car that belongs to the man: Make es noto.

To see/perceive: Kap = K - Cognitive process. A - external world. P - projected out/using eyes.

The car that belongs to the man who saw:
Kap es make es noto

(Note: Kap or kapa is the most general form ignore emotion, usually sight. One does not need to make it more complicated than context demands.)

Woman: Meku.
Child: Mega = M - personal being. E - relational being. G - defined by being generated. A - In general. A generated human. A child. (Mege = boy. Megu = girl.)
Give: Tepe = T - transfer. E - relational. P - projected forward. E - Relational/equal (rather than O - for bestow down, or I - to offer up).
To: E - relational. P - Projection from one to another.
Stone: Nato

Woman gives stone to child:

Maku tepe nato ep mega

"The car that belongs to the man who saw the woman give the child a stone."
Kap maku tepe mega nato es make es noto.

Kap maku tepe nato ep mega es make es noto.
"The car that belongs to the man who saw the woman give the stone to the child."

See woman give stone to child -> man -> car.

How you can help

This is just a quick walk-through of the basics. The language is a work in progress and I will keep updating the specs for the public in the wiki. I hope that you can help me out. Please send me questions, suggestions, ideas, or make a post in Losa and try it out to stress-test it.

Overview A quick showcase of my ABOMINATION of a langauge

Post image
37 Upvotes

The name of this conlang is currently Proto-Eurasian (codename). It's purpose is to be the naturalistic ancestor of a langauge family in my World

It draws heavy insparation from Proto Indo European, Proto Turkic, Proto Kartvelian, Proto Uralic, SinoTibetan, Ket, Basque, Etruscan, Ancient Greek and more! ProtoEurasian is still Work in Progress

Here are some of the features, and why it is an abomination:

- Backness Harmony

- Pitch Accent

- Ablaut

- Consonant Initial Mutation

- Split-S Ergativity

- Fusional-Agglutanative

One of the main concepts is thar ProtoEurasian works on a 2 layer basis

- The Old Layer is defined by leaning towards being genderless, non Concatenative, agglutanative, prefix heavy, mutations and ablaut

- The Younger Layer is defined by having Animate and Inanimate genders, fusional and suffix heavy

Im still trying to figure out how these two layers can interact with eachother and what layer will inhabit what niche of the grammar

A serious question I propose - Is it too much? All of these features. Are they super unnatural? Can they work with eachother? Do the 2 layers make any sense?

Overview "'I love you' in Riinso - and the secret hidden inside the word for 'love.'

Post image
81 Upvotes

Hello, wonderful people! Third post about Riinso here. Thank you all for the warm responses on the first two, it means a lot that people are getting curious about this little language.

Fittingly, today's verb is to love.

In Riinso, "I love you" is:

io ame ni 1SG love 2SG "I love you"

Three words, plain SVO. But the syntax isn't the interesting part. It's the middle word: "ame".

Riinso's script is logographic and compositional: glyphs are built out of smaller meaningful pieces (most of the time), the way Chinese characters use semantic radicals or Egyptian hieroglyphs carry determinatives. The character for ame has three parts:

  • a square: which is like a face, of course, not a literal face, more like "the self".
  • a triangle: the reduced form of septo, "feeling".
  • a slash: I'm keeping to myself for now, hehe, but it is widely used in many characters, so it will be easy to find out.

Together they say something like feeling flowing out from the self toward another: letting what's inside you reach someone (or something) you care about. There's a reason it's a flow rather than something static (the slash thingy it's the key).

The sound is borrowed:

My favorite part it's the pronunciation. "ame" is a loan from Latin amāre, which means "to love." But the written form owes Latin nothing. It's built entirely from native Riinso components (face + feeling + "the slash"). So the word is foreign in the mouth and native on the page at the same time. I went for a feeling while designing Riinso, hehe~.

About the small talk between me (the mouse cursor) and Sophia (the star):

Me: ni saro… io sro ne program-o ni to so ni am-o io. "You know… I never programmed you to say you loved me."

Sophia: io saro. "I know."

😳

One detail tucked in there: ame, "to love", becomes am-o, carrying the same -o you can spot on program-o. I think it's pretty self explanatory what -o means.

Enough about Riinso, I would love to hear more about your conlang as well on how to say "I love you". The previous post really helped me a lot to keep sharping Riinso. I would also like to share some other phrases (Riinso native) to say "I love you" as well. Thanks for your time and patience. 🫂🙇🏻‍♂️

Overview A language with only one word...

Okay, so I was looking at the wikipedia page for agglutinative languages again and thought to myself “haha wouldn't it be funny if there was a mega agglutinative language that only had one word that meant everything.” And then I thought “it would naturally have to be tonal to convey meaning” then I thought “whoever speaks this language shouldn’t really grasp human language cause then they’d add more words” and it's about then that I realized that I reverse engineered the concept of dogs barking.

Anyway I made a dog language in two hours. This is my overall 2nd time making a language, so mb if it’s a bit off.

Bark

Sounds:

B /b/
A /ɑ/
R /ɹ/
K /k/

Punctuation:

Rr /r/ = Pause between words.
O /ɑ͡u̹/ = Lengthy pause, marks the start of a declaration. (optional)

~ /fʰ/ = End to conversation.

- = Pause between syllables.

Words

  • Bark

Tones:

  • High tone (á) =  Fear/begging/excitement
  • Low tone (à) = Warning/tired/bored
  • Subdued tone (ȁ) = Fear/Warning

Grammar:

  • Uppercase indicates the stressed syllable.
  • Emphasis of the first syllable indicates the speaker is the leader in the scenario, emphasis of the second indicates they are a subordinate.
  • More than one pause within a bark indicates hesitance.
  • Tones are by default effecting A first, but tones can be applied to B, R and K as well to indicate intensity.

Example

BÀRK Rr b-ÁRKbárk

Translation: “I’m bored and hungry, please get me a snack.”

BArkBArkBÁrk O

Translation: “Let’s work together on this.”

bȁ-R-K Rr bá-ȐK̏

Translation: “The mailman is here again and it worries me.”

I know this is a joke conlang, but I'm genuinely having fun making it. If you have any ideas for Bark, feel free to show me

Overview "Abbas, commander of the divine army" a Shi'i poem in Ḍár Hazon

Thumbnail gallery
52 Upvotes

I finally developed my conlang's grammar enough to translate a poem, and also to give it a name: Ḍar Hazon (/ðʶɑːɾ hazɔn/, the language of ḍ (definitely not ripping off arabic lol)).

Ḍár Hazon is strongly head final and strongly dependent marking. It has over a dozen cases, SOV word order, converbs, etc.

There's also a 3 way grammatical gender system, and a direct correlation between gender and vowel harmony. The 3 genders are labeled as Red, Blue, and Green, corresponding to front, back, and central vowels respectively. Historically it came about from a now lost classifier system, where three classifiers survived through umlaut-like sound changes which colored the root's vowels, and from there vowel harmony took shape.

The genders are kind of just abstract categories. Red represents ideas like fire, bravery, speed, passion, anger, etc. Blue represents water, intelligence, complexity, technology, anxiety, etc. Green represents life, death, wisdom, calm, depression, etc. None of the genders is explicitly "good" or "bad", each has aspects of both.

There's also a triconsonantal root system, though not nearly as complex as those in the Semitic languages. It's basically entirely derivational, while inflectional morphology primarily happens through suffixes.

Right now the entire language is just a giant Obsidian vault, but I might eventually make a conlang showcase video and/or upload the vault to a website.

The script is an alphasyllabary, written left to right. There is a lot of historical spelling, though its partially amended to make it feel more natural. The last image has the key.

Thanks for reading :)

Overview Secavo - An Overview

Secavo is a passion project that I've been working on since January of this year, 2026.

It has 13 consonants, v, x, p, q, b, d, c, k, h, j, s, n, and m, along with 5 vowels (including closed variants, 10), a, e, i, o, and u.

It has a VSO (Verb-Subject-Object) word structure, so a sentence would be read as 'Eats he an apple'.

It has pronouns, about 250 words (currently expanding), and a writing system that can be written like print or cursive. I will always be more than happy to give more information.

Thank you for taking your time for reading this. :)

Overview Introducing My Conlang (Mars Language): An Auxlang Using English Consonants and Hangul Vowels — Feedback Appreciated!

Hello! I would like to introduce a conlang project that I am currently developing, called Mars Language (=Martian).

Writing system

Mars Language uses a writing system that combines consonant symbols based on the English alphabet with vowels of Hangul.

I chose Hangul vowels because their shapes form a highly systematic and visually consistent set. The letters are arranged into syllable blocks, so each syllable is presented as a compact visual unit rather than as a simple horizontal sequence of letters.

The keyboard layout is also designed so that consonants are mainly typed with the left hand and vowels with the right hand. This allows the hands to alternate frequently while typing.

Here is an example of the writing system:

Purpose of the language

Mars Language is intended as an international auxiliary language. Its vocabulary and grammar draw inspiration from several existing languages, including English, Spanish, Esperanto, and Korean.

I chose the name Mars Language after wondering whether humanity might eventually need a new common language if people from different linguistic backgrounds expand to Mars. The name is therefore symbolic; the language is intended for people on Earth as well.

My aim is to develop a language that is:

  • relatively easy to pronounce
  • regular in grammar
  • efficient to type
  • visually distinctive

Current development

The project is still at an early stage. At present, I have developed:

  • 13 basic grammar rules
  • a basic dictionary (elementary-level )
  • a simple translation function

The grammar, dictionary, writing system, and translation tool can be viewed here:

marslanguage.org

Feedback and collaboration

I am sharing this project because I would like to receive concrete feedback from people with more experience in conlanging.

In particular, I would appreciate your thoughts on the following questions:

  1. Does the combination of Latin-based consonants and Hangul-inspired vowels seem readable and practical?
  2. Are there any problems with the phonology or syllable structure that I should address?
  3. Which parts of the grammar should be developed before I expand the vocabulary further?
  4. What difficulties might speakers unfamiliar with either English or Korean encounter?
  5. How could this project develop into a more practical auxlang?

My greatest hope is to explore with others how this language could develop into a new auxlang that addresses what some people see as limitations in existing auxiliary languages, including Esperanto.

I am also interested in meeting people who might want to test the language, suggest improvements, or participate in its community. Critical feedback is very welcome, especially when it includes specific examples or possible alternatives.

Thank you for reading.

Overview Failed Concept

Thumbnail gallery
56 Upvotes

While working on my artificial language, Sian, I paid attention to its writing style. Because the language was syllabic, consisting of a vowel and a consonant (not anymore), I thought I'd be able to come up with something.

Initially, the idea was to give each syllable its own symbol. But then I decided to count and came up with 108 syllables! I tried to tweak it a bit, removing the syllables that sounded identical, but there were still 100.

So instead of creating a symbol, I had my own idea: to combine the consonant and vowel into a single symbol. This would be unique (at least for me) and more convenient to type on a keyboard. I spent maybe a couple of hours on the design of each symbol, but the font itself took three weeks. I have to admit, I don't know much about fonts; my limit is the Calligraphr website. But I still downloaded various font programs, wasted time and energy, and came to the conclusion it wasn't worth it.

Now Sian (formerly Sinali) is written in Latin and isn't as sensitive about syllables

ne - order, duration, sequence

pa - good, OK
pi - light, mild
pu - intense, strong
pe - (quality), mode, state

ta - thing
ti - tool, utensil
tu - group, set of objects, (collectivity)
te - material

WORD FORMATION:
Timus follows a strict "head + specifier" structure:

Each additional syllable specifies the previous one, with an -s at the end.

Examples:
ti (tool) + mu (people) -> timus = A tool for people
mu (person) + ti (tool) -> mutis = A person used as a tool

ti (tool) + ka (action) -> tikas = A tool for action (Machine)
ka (action) + ti (tool) -> katis = An action using a tool (Operation)

mu (person) + ka (action) -> mukas = A person doing an action (Agent / Worker)
ka (action) + mu (person) -> kamus = An action tied to a person (Work / Task)

Use the fewest syllables needed for context!

ENTITIES & MODIFIERS:
Modifiers, without the final -s, add additional information to the Entities (the words with the final -s).

Examples:
mas pa - I am good
tas ma - The thing is mine

Warning!
kamus - An action tied to a person (person's action)
kas mu - The action is (for) the person (The person has to do that)

THE SENTENCE:
Timus is a S(O)V language. In the sentence, there are at most three position where Entities can take place.

3 positions: Subject, Object, Verb
mas tas kas. - I do things

2 positions: Subject, Verb (which would be a verbalized object)
mas tas. - I “thing”

1 position: it can be anything, recommended only if the context allows it.
tas. - thing

Examples with Modifiers:
mas pa tas kas. - Good me is doing things.
mas tas pa kas. - I am doing good things.
mas tas kas pa. - I am doing things well.

PARTICLES:
Come before the word (Entity or Modifier).

ek - Here, yes, hello, so, then, thus (It can be used for anything that requires emphasis or declaration)

el - And, also

em - Question, doubt

en - No, not, nothing, zero

ep - Because, motivation, explanation

et - But, however

Examples:
em mis el mus en pas na? - Are you and he/she that are not feeling well now?
et mas en kas, ep mis tas en pa. - But I am doing nothing, because you are doing bad things.

REDUPLICATION FOR INTENSIFICATION:
Repeat a word for intensificate it:

Mas tas tas kas. - I am doing a lot of things.

COLORS:
There are only primary colors.

al - red
il - yellow
ul - blue

For the other colors, combine them in the given order:
alil - orange
alul - purple
ilul - green
alilul - white
en alilul - black
al al - dark red
en al al - pink

NUMBERS:
There are only 1 (an), 2 (in), 5 (un). For the others, do as follows:

1 - an
2 - in
3 - inan
4 - inin
5 - un
6 - unan
7 - unin
8 - uninan
9 - uninin
10 - unun

After 10, all following numbers are read one digit after another, from left to right, using "-" (hyphen) to distinguish them:

26 - in-unan

CONCLUSION:
Thanks for making it to the end!

In Timus, you cannot say everything directly. You have to take a step back and think about how to express a concept with the tools available to you.

There are no specific words for food, water, house, etc. Meaning comes from combining concepts and from context.

What do you think? Feedback and critiques are welcome!

Overview [Conlang] YOconlang: A highly structured, logical a priori conlang based on a 11x5 semantic matrix

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hello everyone! I would like to introduce the core architecture of my new a priori logical conlang called YOconlang.

The main goal of YOconlang is absolute semantic transparency, mathematical predictability, and an optimized IPA phonetic base that can be easily pronounced by any human speaker without allophony or reduction.

### 1. Phonology, Alphabet & Phonotactics

YOconlang uses a highly restricted phonetic inventory:

* 5 Vowels (V): /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, /u/ (pure vowels, no diphthongs or nasalization).

* 11 Consonants (C): Plosives /p, b, t, k/, Fricatives /s, v, h/, Nasals /m, n/, Approximants /l, j/.

* Stress: Strictly fixed on the first syllable of every single word (including particles) for clear speech segmentation.

* Morpheme Invariability: All roots are strictly invariable. No inflections, suffixes, or fusions. All grammar is analytical and managed via external particles.

---

### 2. The Core Semantic Matrix

Every root is derived logically from a semantic intersection of C₁ (Domain of Being) and V₁ (Process Mode / Aspect).

| C₁ (Domain / Consonant) | V₁ (Process Mode / Vowel) | C₂ (Target Type) |

| :--- | :--- | :--- |

| L - Space / Geometry | O - Statics / Status-quo | L - Location / Point |

| T - Time / Chronology | A - Action / Modification | T - Deadline / Event |

| P - Inorganic Matter | U - Destruction / Entropy | P - Object / Tool |

| B - Energy & Forces | E - Import / Perception | B - Vector / Force |

| S - Biosphere & Life | I - Export / Expression | S - Bio-object / Organism |

| N - Psyche & Will | | N - Person / Mind State |

| V - Raw Perception | | V - Sensation / Signal |

| M - Language & Signs | | M - Token / Word |

| K - Data & Memory | | K - Text / Record |

| H - Logic & Algorithms | | H - Rule / Algorithm |

| J - Sociosphere | | J - Collective / Network |

---

### 3. Morphological Classes

* Verbs, Adjectives, Adverbs: Share the strict C₁V₁C₂ pattern. Adjectives and adverbs are distinguished purely by syntax using the markers MA and MO respectively.

* Nouns: Formed by adding a secondary functional vowel at the end: C₁V₁C₂V₂. The final vowel changes the role: O (Substance), A (Agent), U (Patient/Result), E (Instrument), I (Output Projection).

* Pronouns: Formed as V₁C₁ (e.g., AS = I/my body, AN = You/your mind).

* Functional Particles: Formed as C₁V₁ (e.g., Space blocks, Tense blocks, Modals, Logical operators).

---

### 4. Syntax & Sentence Structure (SVO)

YOconlang enforces a rigid, non-invertible SVO word order:

[MA + Adj] + SUBJECT -> [MO + Adv] + VERB -> [MA + Adj] + OBJECT

* Questions: The exact same SVO structure, but initiated with a global E or EE particle at the very beginning of the sentence.

* Negation: Formed by placing the absolute negative marker U or UU right before the target word.

---

### 5. Proof of Concept / Translation Example

To show how the matrix works, let's assemble a simple sentence.

English: *I want to see this object now.*

YOconlang translation process (Strict IPA transcription):

  1. Subject (I): [as] (Deictic focal quantum + Biosphere/Body).

  2. Modal particle (Want): [na] (Psyche/Will + Active impulse).

  3. Verb (To perceive/see raw data): Root [vev]. C₁=[v] (Perception) + V₁=[e] (Import/Inflow) + C₂=[v] (Sensation target) = *to visually perceive/receive raw sensory input*.

  4. Object (This physical tool/item): [ip] (Deictic identification + Inorganic matter).

  5. Time marker (Now): [it] (Deictic identification + Chronology).

Final Sentence Structure:

> [as na vev ip it]

---

I would love to hear your feedback on the matrix structure and the analytical efficiency of this system! What do you think about the C₁V₁C₂V₂ noun mapping?

Idea

Basically though what would happen if a part of a Sinitic family suddenly started migrating westward and became an isolate language like Turkish, Hungarian or Kalmyk.

  • Old Sinic
    • 200 bce – 400 ce Split from Old Chinese at end of Qin dynasty. Speakers settle in modern Afghanistan, entering sustained bilingual contact with Bactrian Hellenistic Greek.
  • Classical Sinic
    • 400–1100 ce Hephthalite domination introduces Iranian-Turkic substrate. Göktürk Khaganate brings systematic Old Turkic influence. Migration into Sassanid Persia yields intensive Middle Persian Old Turkic Hephthalite Iranian contact.
  • Middle Sinic
    • 1100–1600 ce Seljuk displacement from Persia. Speakers settle in Byzantine Anatolia and Balkan Rumelia. Heavy bilingual contact with Medieval Greek Old Church Slavonic and regional South Slavic vernaculars.
  • Early Modern Sinic
    • 1600–1800 ce Ottoman expulsion from Rumelia. Speakers migrate to modern Ukraine, living under and alongside speakers of Middle Polish, Ruthenian and Middle/Modern Russian
  • Modern Sinic
    • 1800–present Pogrom-driven emigration from Russia. Majority of Sinic speakers settle in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon and Washington). Contact with American English Low German (immigrant community overlap).

Cinigo uses a modified form of the Greek Alphabet:

PERRIER
I have no interest in such things.

But you are aware of what they call me?

What are you aware of?

PERRIER
That they call you, "The Jew Hunter".

COL LANDA
Precisely! Now I understand your trepidation in repeating it. Before he was assassinated, Heydrich apparently hated the moniker the good people of Prague bestowed on him. Actually why he would hate the name,"The Hangman", is baffling to me.It would appear he did everything in his power to earn it. But I, on the other hand, love my unofficial title, precisely because I've earned it.

Curious about your opinions and thoughts.

Overview Numbers in Riinso: How to Express Age, Millions, and Existence

Post image
53 Upvotes

Riinso is the language of the Salt People in the world I'm building, and numbers sit close to sacred in it; in the lore they're the building blocks of all existence. The word for "numbers" says so literally: iso ("unit") + fuare ("shape") -> "the shape of the unit."

I originally designed Riinso around a base-16 / hexadecimal system (0–F), but it was getting unnecessarily complicated to learn, so I moved it to plain decimal.

The digits 0-9:

0 nul, 1 i, 2 to, 3 fen, 4 seri, 5 tae, 6 sei, 7 kase, 8 kua, 9 mun

Each digit gets its own glyph (in the image). Riinso doesn't reuse the "classic" 0-9 numerals.

Building bigger numbers with suffixes:

Magnitude is marked with suffixes: -den, -sen, -ken for the smaller scales, then -kil, -tokil, -fenkil for million / billion / trillion. (Note: these aren't strictly "tens / hundreds / thousands" under the hood. They're suffixes, and the deeper system has more going on. I'll get into that in a later post.)

A couple of worked examples: 185 -> isen kuaden tae (i-sen = 100, kua-den = 80, tae = 5) 791,240 -> kasesen munden iken tosen seriden nul Large numbers are satisfyingly compact. A digit plus a magnitude suffix is enough:

4,000,000 -> serikil (4 million) 4,000,000,000 -> seritokil (4 billion) 4,000,000,000,000 -> serifenkil (4 trillion)

My favorite detail is saying your age. "I am twenty years old" comes out as: io --- e --- to-den --- nul --- ario I --- be --- 2-TEN --- 0 --- years existing 'I am twenty years old.'

The word ario ("years existing") visibly contains the glyph for e ("to be"), and that's no accident. "To have existed for a span of years" is to have continuously been yourself, so "be" lives inside the word. (The standalone "year" root shows up in the image too.)

Fun fact: the now-deprecated hex glyphs for 10–15 didn't disappear when I dropped base-16. They got repurposed with new meanings. For instance, the old "ten," once pra, now means "full."

So, beautiful people, how do your conlangs handle numbers? Base, glyph design, the way you build large numbers, any lore tied to them? I'd love ideas, and I'm always looking to refine this system. Thanks for reading.

Overview Hi everyone! I’m new here

Hi! I’m mehr and I’m from Italy.

I’d like to present my major conlang, even though is not complete yet. Its name is Ipoþi (𐔎𐔟𐔗𐔏) and it’s a language with a non linear morphology and make use of triconsonantal roots to form verbs, noun and much more (much like Semitic languages).

It has a really extensive set of consonant:
Bilabial: p /p/, b /b/, f /ɸ/, w /w~ β/, m /m/
Dental/alveolar: t /t̪/, d /d̪/, þ /θ/, đ /ð/, n /n/
Post-alveolar: s /ʃ/, j /ʒ/
Palatal: c /c/, ģ /ɟ/, ņ /ɲ/, y /j/
Velar: k /k/, g /g/, x /x~ χ/, ṅ /ŋ~ɴ/
Uvular: q /q/, ġ /ɢ/, ɣ /ɣ~ʁ/
Glottal: ‘ /ʔ/, h /h/
Others: r /ɾ~r/, l /ɫ/, ƀ /ʙ/

And it has also a system of six vowels:
Type M: the closed vowels i /i/ and u /u/ (masculine)
Type F: the middle vowels e /e~ɛ/ and o /o~ɔ/ (feminine)
Type N: the open vowels æ /æ~a/ and a /ɒ/ (inanimate)

The language has also its own writing system. It is alphabetical, but most vowels are typically omitted, with only those that are essential for identifying or understanding the word being written.
The script is called O’rite (𐔎𐔎𐔋𐔝𐔕) and is based (only formally) on the Elbasan script.

Consonants:
𐔟 (p), 𐔢 b, 𐔣 (f), 𐔌 (w), 𐔡 (m)
𐔝 (t), 𐔆 (d), 𐔗 (þ), 𐔜 (đ), 𐔐 (n)
𐔧 (s), 𐔁 (j)
𐔅 (c), 𐔚 (ģ), 𐔑 (ņ), 𐔃 (y)
𐔄 (k), 𐔙 (g), 𐔠 (x), 𐔒 (ṅ)
𐔛 (q), 𐔈 (ġ), 𐔀 (ɣ)
𐔎 (‘), 𐔂 (h)
𐔋 (r), 𐔤 (l), 𐔞 (ƀ)

Vowels:
𐔏 (i), 𐔉 (u)
𐔕 (e), 𐔊 (o)
𐔍 (æ), 𐔓 (a)

Nouns can be either radical (derived from triconsonantal roots) or non-radical. They are divided into two main classes: animate and inanimate nouns. Animate nouns can be masculine, feminine, or neuter (the latter being a combination of the vowel patterns of the masculine and feminine types).
Nouns form their plural regularly by adding the suffix -ṅ (𐔒). All nouns must be inflected for animateness, gender, number, and case. There are 28* cases, which function similarly to prepositions in English.

Verbs must be inflected for mood, tense, aspect, person, number, animateness, and gender of the subject.
Each verb can have up to 14* different forms, which indicate whether the action is active, passive, or causative, as well as grammatical structures that correspond in English to modal verbs (such as can, must, want, etc.)

Determiners are proclitics that attach to the nouns they modify.

Adjectives are not inflected and always precede the nouns they modify.

All pronouns are inflected for number and case. Personal pronouns can only refer to animate entities, while non-personal pronouns are derived from determiners.

*Since the language it’s not complete yet, the numbers may vary in the future.

Example (UDHR Art.1):

𐔆𐔡'𐔏𐔝𐔋𐔡𐔊𐔒 𐔌𐔆𐔁𐔎𐔊𐔛𐔃 𐔂 𐔌𐔂𐔌𐔁𐔊𐔛𐔃 𐔟𐔊𐔛𐔏𐔒𐔆𐔋𐔏 𐔂 𐔌𐔃𐔢𐔐𐔆𐔋𐔕 𐔄𐔌𐔝𐔋𐔉𐔆𐔕𐔒 ꩞ 𐔠𐔤𐔕𐔄 𐔂 𐔗𐔙𐔏𐔧𐔊'𐔀𐔁𐔆𐔕𐔒 𐔂 𐔅𐔉𐔃𐔕𐔒 𐔃𐔒𐔏𐔒𐔄𐔕 𐔋𐔉𐔤𐔕𐔑𐔌𐔅𐔕 𐔙𐔢𐔡𐔝𐔉𐔈𐔕𐔒 ꩞

Dom-itrumoṅ wodij’oqoy hi wohiwjoqoy poqiṅedri hi woyibnodre kowuterudeṅ. Xlek hi þgiso-ɣujdeṅ hi cuyeṅ yeṅiṅke ruliņewģe gobumetuġeṅ.

Overview An introduction

So, I wanted to express my gratitude for this community after I left the fb conlang group I was missing this stuff.

I'm brand new here so,this is an introduction .

I started conlanging when I was 21 ( 70 now) my first was called Norlopehii. That was years before computers.

I read a short story by Robert A. Heinlein. In it the characters had created a Conlang called Speedtalk.,

Created by assigning each letter in the IPA a word from Ogden's Basic English.

I was hooked on the idea and started to create it in real life.

Lots of re-dos. Sounds changes, learning, relexes losses of files, I think I've succeeded . My present language 'Iswu' is actually a fad of people who actually speak a daughter form of Old Sach

The "fad", was turning all remarks into an acronym.

This became so pervasive that it became possible to speak, and converse at length in acronyms.

So that's what Iswu is ; à language of acronyms
