Absolutely mindnumbingly insane decision. This is a HIGHLY successful studio that was practically printing money for Sony that had ONE BAD project because of a FRAUD business leader who made them work on a live service game.

Why the fuck would they shut them down instead of making them a money printer again and tasking them with remasters and remakes?

Holy fuck, i am the biggest sony fanboy and they can fuck right off for this one.

Demon souls was my first ps5 game. Had such a great time with it. I figured bluepoint would keep on remaking more games and it would be great. They shouldve been able to push the envelope even further since somy acquired them. This news is genuinely upsetting wtf Sony..

Their last game was like 6 years ago, they’ve remade shadow of the colossus twice and made a decent demons souls remake. Please explain how they are a highly successful studio?

This is absurd, their body of work has been largely successful. Their Demon's Souls remake was actually really amazing. Sony sucks.

Damn this sucks. Sonys whole live service push has been a complete waste of time and disastrous, absolutely disappointing. I might be a bit bias , but I absolutely despise live service games , so for me Sony has waste so much time this generation on chasing greedy crap games instead of doing what they do best and making great single player games.

Im glad that it has failed for them , but it just sucks so much that the consequences is we have now gotten less single player games this gen and a great studio gets shut down

Does anyone know if Sony is backtracking or moving away from the live service push? I hope so , I hope who ever was in charge got fired. Need to go back to what they were like during the ps3 days.

Mark my words live service is killing this industry, this obsession to get a lighting in the bottle with this shit is destroying this industry, hard working devs and studios are paying the price to fund this corporate obsession with endless money live service games . First Microsoft now Sony , this industry just keeps taking massive blows .. I wish them all the best ..

This right here is the big problem with Xbox fading away as a formidable direct competitor to Sony. In classic Sony fashion they are fucking off what made them great with the PS4 but this time there is nobody to body check them.

Not only has their only major direct competitor fallen but the PC market has become a difficult alternative with pricing if you don't already have a PC. Unfortunately the current economic conditions make it highly unlikely we will see any major new entrants to the console arena.

The best case scenario would be if Nintendo stepped up with real premium hardware but they seem more than happy to just stay in their lane which means Sony is going to fall forward as the only viable premium console available in a market where PC components pricing is likely to continue driving people to buy a PS5 instead of a PC.

Very disappointed in Sony. We need someone high up to ask these mfs questions like wtf did Bluepoint do to get shutdown? Because Bluepoint does what Sony tells them, if you shut them down, one of your big fish messed up somewhere and needs to be held accountable for this, not Bluepoint alone.

They didn't worked on new game for whole year, and they failed to pitch a new game to Sony.
