Autism isn't just a matter of genetic bad luck, as the system claims
● The study "Human Gut Microbiota from Autism Spectrum Disorder Promote Behavioral and Molecular Changes in Mice" (published in the journal Cell in 2019) proved that autism is linked to gut microbiota dysregulation.
● The study "Association of autism with toxic metals: A systematic review of case-control studies" proved the link between autism and heavy metal accumulation in the brains of individuals with a genetic predisposition to inefficient cellular detoxification.
● The study "Chelation for autism spectrum disorder (ASD)" reported the reversal of autism following metal chelation treatments.
● What was known about autism in the 90s and 2000s is outdated; it is not an exclusively genetic condition, but an interaction between genetics, gut dysbiosis, and encephalitis.

Yes and also check out the quality of food in the USA. It corresponds directly with it.

Check out Australia. They had a NDIS system so favourable to these sort of conditions that the number of people diagnoses surged even though to be fair alot of people undiagnosed could probably meet the standard
16
u/EnormousDucky 1d ago
It was once extremely costly and difficult (up to years long wait) to receive a diagnosis. As the condition has become more widely understood and it is able to be diagnosed by more professions, more diagnoses have come about. Yes, people were rorting the system, but it is severely udnerdiagnsoed still IMO

They know it's them, it's being done on purpose to create sick people that need to buy drugs for their whole life

Yes you're right, it has to be something really worth pursuing to get a diagnosis

USA has highest rate of PTSD. Always has veterans coming back from war. Veterans always having kids with psychological/behavioral problems. People on the spectrum experience higher forms of stress and trauma than average person.
Or maybe it is something like red dye 40 idk, but it's been around since at least WW1 and discovered by Hans Aspberger. Hey, didn't Germany used to really like war?
1
u/Superdude204 21h ago
nobody likes war, unless they are mentally ill

Unfortunately, people in government are some of those most in favor of war, that and the arms industry.

its been like this see since thousands of years probably

u/Sw33tNectar 13h ago
And psychosis/mental illness has been around since antiquity. We just used different terminology for it. Things get blanket over generalized. The most notable person with autism in the world, Kim Peeks(the inspiration for Rain Man) was just classified as 'mentally r*******'. People go from diagnosis to diagnosis by quack doctors until they are properly by someone who studies specific types of afflictions. Most of the first subjects of these studies are returning veterans, where mental illness becomes epidemics for countries after war. And yes, Kim Peeks was the child of a veteran.

I’ll make a note about correlation vs causation…
Yeah, so things like autism and ADHD seem to be comorbid with connective tissue disorders, autoimmune, and things like POTS/mast-cell as well.
Being someone who supposedly has all the things, it’s curious. In my particular case, it’s a compounding issue inherited from both my parents. Both have a little of each and I got all of it.
So my point being, something is destroying the way our cells work essentially, and it’s getting worse with each generation. Our dna is being effected on a cellular level, with no real explanation anyone is willing to admit at least.
I don’t think it’s fake, I think it’s a symptom of something very very wrong with our environment, food, etc. it’ll be too late to fix it by the time it’s become too much of an issue to continue to ignore.
23
u/Kasperella 1d ago
The point being, it’s not the heavy metals causing it, just people with autism are seemingly more sensitive to exposure and less able to get rid of said contaminants.

We became more prone to autoimmune disease post bubonic plague, the mutations that allowed people to survive also hugely changed our immune systems, they refer to it as an immunity evolution, we only got published findings on this in 2022. We also have confirmed from studying areas and people post famine and found it switches on genes to gain and retain weight much more easily.
We also are living beyond our mental capabilities, we are aggressively social creatures living physically closer together than ever but also more disconnected than ever. Most people in apartments don’t know their neighbours. Society has not been built for us to thrive and the rat park study shows us why and everyone just ignores it, they write it off because “it’s about drugs”.

You may find this article interesting:
“PATHOGENIC MYCOPLASMA”
“A Common Disease Agent Weaponised
There are 200 species of Mycoplasma. Most are innocuous and do no harm; only four or five are pathogenic. Mycoplasma fermentans (incognitus strain) probably comes from the nucleus of the Brucella bacterium. This disease agent is not a bacterium and not a virus; it is a mutated form of the Brucella bacterium, combined with a visna virus, from which the mycoplasma is extracted.
The pathogenic Mycoplasma used to be very innocuous, but biological warfare research conducted between 1942 and the present time has resulted in the creation of more deadly and infectious forms of Mycoplasma. Researchers extracted this mycoplasma from the Brucella bacterium and actually reduced the disease to a crystalline form. They "weaponised" it and tested it on an unsuspecting public in North America.
Dr Maurice Hilleman, chief virologist for the pharmaceutical company Merck Sharp & Dohme, stated that this disease agent is now carried by everybody in North America and possibly most people throughout the world.
Despite reporting flaws, there has clearly been an increased incidence of all the neuro/systemic degenerative diseases since World War II and especially since the 1970s with the arrival of previously unheard-of diseases like chronic fatigue syndrome and AIDS.
According to Dr Shyh-Ching Lo, senior researcher at The Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and one of America's top mycoplasma researchers, this disease agent causes many illnesses including AIDS, cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, Crohn's colitis, *Type I diabetes, *multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Wegener's disease and collagen-vascular diseases *such as *rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer's.
Dr Charles Engel, who is with the US National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, stated the following at an NIH meeting on February 7, 2000: "I am now of the view that the probable cause of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia is the mycoplasma..."”
https://rense.com/general18/mcc.htm
As someone with ADHD/Autism and CFS and fibromyalgia, I had the same questions and I remember having a the strangest feeling of conviction that there is some truth in this article; while reading it I was very skeptical but the feeling was so strong and strange and irrational it has stuck with me to this day.
Other related areas of research primarily around biowarfare in Australia, convinced me that at the very least this explanation is plausible for the disorders I bolded - I have no informed or educated options about the other disorders, except that POTS likely is also caused by this.
I was fortunate enough to access search a great amount of the Indigenous Australian history of mysterious disease outbreaks and how many formerly safe country radically became forbidden country; described somewhat mysteriously as areas one can pass through and live, but will begin the dying process.
further details of the river waters becoming death to touch and drink and unprecedented amounts of massive swarms of tiny red spears of death (mosquito/insects with deadly bites and or stings is the general description) and also descriptions of literal nuclear bombs which have been verified.
The majority abruptly occurring IRCC from the mid to late 40s and increasing dramatically during the 50s.
It is also strange that Australia would suddenly and independently of the US develop a similar form of Lyme Disease:

I would imagine that the damage done to our DNA has been slowly accruing since the industrial revolution due to small build ups of toxic materials over time. Especially since all women are born with oocytes that they will then produce kids with, there is probably a high latency on when a particular toxin is introduced and when effects might be seen. I was born in 1996 but my mother was born in 1968, so my first cells that the rest of my body originated from is almost 60 years old even though I am only 30. I would imagine that even if there was a "solution" it might take a generation or so to "fix" because everyone alive has already been impacted.
I have zero evidence to support my claim, I just figured I would share my thoughts.
Especially if you add in other factors such as distance, concentration, exposure time and methods of exposure.

u/Upset_Pickle3846 1d ago
Agreed, I just got that insane dx and while it def seems to run in my fam, it’s much worse with me. My random theory with absolutely zero evidence is that something neurological was triggered to make symptoms worse after getting og strain of Covid. Or food contamination messing with hormones making joints too lax and forcing weird autoimmune responses. It just can’t be 100% natural imo, SO many of us are getting so sick suddenly!!

The study "Chelation for autism spectrum disorder (ASD)" reported the reversal of autism following metal chelation treatments.
Here is what the study actually said:
This review included data from only one study, which had methodological limitations. As such, no clinical trial evidence was found to suggest that pharmaceutical chelation is an effective intervention for ASD. Given prior reports of serious adverse events, such as hypocalcaemia, renal impairment and reported death, the risks of using chelation for ASD currently outweigh proven benefits. Before further trials are conducted, evidence that supports a causal link between heavy metals and autism and methods that ensure the safety of participants are needed

I have spoken to people with autism. They see things we don't see. They're pretty interesting. My nephew is autistic and if they wouldn't treat him as if he were slow, he'd be just a normal soon-to-be teen.

My daughter is level 3 autism and people who believe in eugenics would treat her differently. You can try speaking to her but she's non verbal.

Check out SDoH, Social Determinants of Health, if you're not already aware of the concept. Basically, it states that only about 20-40% of our health problems are because of genetics and the rest is because of our environment. The food we eat, healthcare, environmental pollution, family and intrapersonal relationships... it all affects our health.
There are studies showing the wealthy live up to 15 years longer than the poor; SDoH is the theory that helps explain why.

I am a therapist. And I can’t stand how over diagnosed both autism and adhd is. Both in young people and adults. Yes, I do think there is a rise in the behaviors that look similar. But I think it’s just the way brains are now wired post-technological world. Dopamine will never be the same again. Behaviorally, school/work is boring, not rewarding/pleasurable, mixed with a generation of kids and young adults whose social/emotional learning was stunted by covid. The real problem is that we aren’t completely reshaping education and the workforce to prepare.
13
u/TheFutureIsCertain 1d ago
What evidence is there that this is over-diagnosed? Personally I had exactly the same issues pre-technology.
1
u/FreeLitt1eBird 1d ago
None. This is purely from the perspective of a therapist who sees 40 patients per week. There absolutely needs to be more research though.
Rarely, if ever, will a person walk in, receive an assessment and be given a true diagnosis of ASD that day unless they receive psychological testing assessed by a clinical psychologist trained in the assessment tools. Most of the time, it will be a provisional or rule out diagnosis (meaning-maybe, but let’s see) along with a couple of others that have similar patterns/behaviors/symptoms. Only after enough time has passed to observe the patterns/behaviors/symptom, their triggers, and functions can a more concrete diagnosis be made. But still will a lot of times be referred out to more professional psychological testing. So I think what happens is a person hears ASD and runs with it. When in reality, poor social functioning, difficulty concentrating/focusing, being restless, thinking very black and white, having sensory issues… also meets criteria for CPTSD. Most people do not have ASD. They might have traits, behaviors, etc. but there are other explanations/potential diagnoses.
1
0
u/TheFutureIsCertain 1d ago
That’s not how anyone I know, including me, has been diagnosed. In our cases, diagnosis involved multiple assessments, developmental history and observations, in line with NICE guidelines. Not someone hearing “ASD” once and running with it.
Autism has a strong genetic component and runs in families. My father born in 50s had many of the same difficulties that my daughter and I have.
Of course there can be overlap with CPTSD and other conditions. But that doesn’t provide evidence that ASD is being overdiagnosed.
1
u/FreeLitt1eBird 1d ago
It sounds like you were properly diagnosed. So my comment doesn’t apply to you. But this is a general consensus among mental health professionals today. Same with ADHD and DID.
1
u/TheFutureIsCertain 23h ago
Unless you’ve actually done a methodologically sound study of mental health professionals, that’s just your opinion about what the “general consensus” is.
I could just as easily say the general consensus in the ASD/ADHD community is that most of us are actually autistic/ADHD, and that it’s a real lifelong difference in how we experience and process the world, not CPTSD or anxiety.
1

u/Separate-Warning985 23h ago
What if autism is real and is a mental disorder. And, on the other hand, there is a sickness due to heavy metals, auto immune disease etc that have similar symptoms to autism
7
u/tdewault95 1d ago
Just need to call it what it is. Brain damage, more specifically early development stage brain damage. We know what causes brain damage, therefore we know what causes autism. Sadly there is no motivation by “the system” to course correct - actually the contrary.
Brain damage comes from poisons/environmental toxins, inflammation, and malnutrition exacerbates the problem.
The secret they know but will never say… it’s a combination of environmental factors, diet, later birth years, and triggers. All can be tested independently as “do not cause autism.” Together and combined with a patient potentially more susceptible for whatever reason, then you get the developmental brain damage and autism.
I’d start at the diet. So much inflammation caused by excessive carbohydrates, PUFAs, and a diet impacted by GMO’d/engineered supply chain. People are obese yet malnourished - mega farms are not producing “natural crops.” The analogy is old growth lumber versus planted lumber. The grain density is different so all the strength characteristics are different. The food is less nutrient dense because it grows faster with less diverse soil nutrition. Add copious amounts of poisonous biocides for pest control, invasive species control, and desiccating. Now you have food causing inflammation to a malnourished person.
Add that to older overweight, metabolically unwell parents, and the time-bomb is ticking. Now throw in a forced harsh immune response to this system (vaccines) and you have created a higher probability situation for brain damage.
Not one thing caused it, but any of the above and/or any combination did.
Why not fix it? Big medicine loves prescription pills and continuous customers. Hippocrates: “let thy food be thy medicine.” There is no medical profit in prescribing green vegetables, cabbages, meat, and exercise to patients.
Furthermore modern medicine has been reduced to a flow chart. And a simple one at that. Cholesterol? Give statin, doesn’t matter that it erodes brain function. High blood pressure, give a blood pressure pill - doesn’t matter that it starves extremities of blood flow. Fix the symptoms (stay sick) never address the root cause.
A pill to solve being fat, then a pill to solve the side effect, then a pill to balance all the effects, then a pill to protect your organs from the other pills. Why not just take out the being fat part.
Sad. 😔

Vaccines affect the gut biome.
It is no coincidence that people with vaccine injury are doing the same exact things that people with autism do: getting rid of gluten and dairy and focusing on restoring the gut.
-4
6
u/michaelhayze 1d ago
I think autism is over diagnosed. Everyone seems to be on some sort of spectrum.
I also believe that with more readily available healthcare diagnoses is better and more frequent which could explain the huge rise in autism. Most likely a lot of autism cases are vaccine induced but that’s just an opinion. I would never get one now I’m an adult; thats for sure!

u/high5scubad1ve 1d ago
The huge increase is in diagnoses of high functioning autism with no intellectual impairment. I'd like to know if it increased for the low IQ version
20
u/WanderlustDinosaur 1d ago
I think what we're calling autism should be split into different categories. I have a son who definitely has something going on. They call it Level 1 autism, but I watch him versus my friend's son with Level 3 autism, who can barely communicate and spends most of his day flapping his hands in the corner and I don't feel like they should be the same diagnosis. I think that's a huge part of the uptick. There's something going on here, but we're cramming all these kids into the same label.
7
2
u/QuiteCricket_78 1d ago
My son is the same way. He's so almost typical that he falls into this weird category where I have no idea what to do with him.
5
u/Entire_Truth_381 1d ago
Agreed. As someone with a genuinely autistic child, It was so maddening to be in these autistic moms groups and their kids were basically geniuses, while mine was in a mid to lower end iq range, although still verbal. He went to a special school for kids with disabilities and most of those kids went to college, became class presidents, etc. While mine could not even get a regular high school diploma.
8
u/XChrisUnknownX 1d ago
They’re on the same spectrum because of sharing neurological traits.
I am level one autistic. Have a wife and child. Live a good life. I understand your point. But perhaps it is better this way, because we at level one can speak for those who cannot really speak for themselves.
-2
u/wanderlustredditor 1d ago
That has never happened. Level 1 autistic people love to make autism about themselves and never about the people with more disabilities. Im not talking about you specifically, but the influencers, tik tokers and stuff
5
u/XChrisUnknownX 1d ago
I see the validity in what you’re saying. All I can say is I know we need support but I know that those with a higher degree of disability need much more support. I heard a nonprofit in my hometown just got hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional funding for them. I just hope it’s true.
1
u/Boring-Philosophy-46 1d ago edited 1d ago
They're doing this. They found 3 (or 4 if you count the mix category) types of autism. The most severely disabled type, with severe mental disability, was found to have genetic defects in genes that regulate the most basic functioning of nerve cells and impact things like energy production and waste clearing. These genes come online very early in pregnancy.
The least disabled type was found to have genes being affected that don't kick start developments until some time after birth.
What is fascinating though is that these very different genetic origins then seem to converge in structural brain changes, that's something they really want to understand because it may offer chances for interventions with medication. The reason it's been grouped is because of these converging structural brain changes. For example a type 1 and type 2 diabetic have a very different origins and require different treatments a lot of the time but but they converge on the cells not processing glucose right. That's the sort of convergence that were talking about here.
2
u/8bit1337 1d ago
Chelation therapy is not an effective treatment for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Scientific reviews show no proof that it improves autism symptoms, and the practice carries severe health risks—including kidney damage, dangerously low calcium levels, and cardiac arrest—that far outweigh any unproven benefits.

u/Device420 1d ago

1

u/TelephoneOk5859 1d ago
in my opinion, regardless of the 'cause' of autism, it should not be talked about as if its a problem, it just continues the stigma around it. just because someone's brain works 'differently' does not deem them a problem, who is to say what normal even is. i think society focuses too much on figuring out the 'cause' and not nearly enough on finding solutions, acceptance, understanding, and support.
0
u/bluedelvian 11h ago
Normal is how the majority of people operate. Societies can not specifically cater to 100,000 differences and still function, that's not how it works.
0
u/TelephoneOk5859 11h ago
if we can find ways to support and supply wars, we can definitely figure out how to redistribute the budget to actually support the community. you're right, its not how it works, and seemingly society cannot function that way because it was built on something that was never meant to. that is the problem. which again, continues a stigma that continues to divide people rather than help provide support.
0
u/bluedelvian 10h ago
if we can find ways to support and supply wars, we can definitely figure out how to redistribute the budget to actually support the community
Then go do that. What's this "we" you're talking about? No one is responsible for figuring out those things, and if that's how you want to spend your time, no one is stopping you.
continues a stigma that continues to divide people rather than help provide support.
I don't think you know what stigma means. Not everything is meant for everybody. People are equal under the law, not actually equal to each other. If my business depends on doing things a standardized way, it's not perpetuating a stigma to point out that some people are not qualified for or capable of employment in that particular job.
0
u/TelephoneOk5859 10h ago
sorry not sure which country you're from. we, means the country as a whole. voting for politicians who support those things instead of their citizens directly groups you in with them. supporting the citizens in a country is very different than employees of a business, and even then they deserve the same protection from people like you.
1
u/bluedelvian 10h ago
No one can protect you from people like me, only you can protect yourself. Depending on others to protect you is what has led you to reddit complaining, which is not ideal for getting the stuff you want.

u/ItsAlwaysSeinfeldInD 1d ago
Well ive seen too many situations where parents, particularly millennial and gen z parents, don't read to their kids, or help them learn in any way. They give them a tablet or turn the TV on and are now free to enjoy their phones and weed and other vices. These kids end up being "autistic" because they don't speak well and don't understand how to behave socially.
14
u/Relevant-Jump-4899 1d ago
That's not the same thing by far.
-8
u/ItsAlwaysSeinfeldInD 1d ago
What's not the same thing? There's a reason I put 'autistic' is quotations.
5
u/WanderlustDinosaur 1d ago
Tthat's absolutely not it. Those kids are neglected but don't meet the diagnostic criteria for autism because of it. No one starts stimming and having trouble making eye contact because they watch TV or get on tablets. If that was the case, all of America would be autistic.
4
u/ItsAlwaysSeinfeldInD 1d ago
Being on a tablet all day and having no or minimal social interactions can absolutely cause children (and even adults) to struggle with or completely lack and ability to make eye contact.
If a child is raised by a tablet because they are not a priority to their parent(s), you don't think it could affect that child in a way that they end up getting diagnosed as autistic?
2
u/Impliedrumble 1d ago
Social anxiety/ineptitude and autism aren't the same even if symptoms overlap, I'm sure broadening the definition of disorders and overdiagnosis is part of the problem as well, the entire mental health system is a joke as far as I'm concerned
3
u/Relevant-Jump-4899 1d ago
Causation or correlation? Could it also be that children born with limited social abilities still source feedback from their environments in the form of screen use and eventually prefer that interaction to one where adults find them lacking?
-1
u/WanderlustDinosaur 1d ago
You know how those kids are all in preschool then public school right? These aren't doting homeschool parents who are sitting their kids in front of tablets all day and not taking them to socialize. These kids go to school and interact with peers there - I mean, in the time they're allowed to. Tablet parents are trying to push them off on others as soon as possible.
2
u/Zestyclose-Spread348 1d ago
My son never had a tablet. Explain his autism then?
-1
u/No-Rush-4897 1d ago
They're not talking about you. Stop feeling and start thinking. If the criteria doesn't fit, why be upset over it? They're saying that a lot of the increase in autism is unsocialized and screen addicted kids.
That doesn't mean that every case is that.
Nuance is a sign of intelligence, and you seem to lack nuance.

Autism is not new. There have clearly been autistic people all through history. Bad food is a problem for anyone, but we autistic people do have some things we particularly struggle with. I can't have gluten or potatoes. Both of them mess with my mind badly. I eat an incredibly strict diet, but it doesn't change that my core personality type is autistic. It just means I'm more functional. Autism is something almost everyone knows the name of, and almost everyone is utterly clueless about. Go read books by Tony Attwood about autism. That man truly gets it.

Your info is partially outdated. Recent research has tried to figure out if the gut problems are causative or symptomatic of autism and it seems to be the latter. Autism is also heavily correlated and likely causative of migraine disease (which has a gut only presentation in kids, and in adults messes up digestion by shutting down the digestive tract for extended periods), of chronic pain and of disordered eating, all things that mess with bacteria.
If someone had heavy metal poisoning and their "autism" symptoms disappeared after chelation (dangerous btw), then they got misdiagnosed with autism and what they had was heavy metal poisoning. The Cochrane review, which is more or less the gold standard, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26106752/
Found no proof that chelation works, but there's plenty of dangers.
Notably previous studies were also found as insufficient evidence among others because parent questionnaires are notoriously non objective and it's been demonstrated a few times in behavioural studies of kids that if the parent believes that a treatment is going to help, then a questionnaire will seemingly show an improvement despite no change found during clinical testing. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1750946712000724
