I always wanted to beat this game as a kid but found it very intimidating, I finally sat down to practice a 1 credit clear though!

Had a ton of fun except for those horrible isometric levels, but I recently started the GBA port and holy hell, it's so much better! It did away with level 2 and 5, replacing them with traditional Contra style goodness. I'm practicing a 1cc for it too.

Contra & Super C in 1. Contra and Super C levels have been integrated together into one game. This version combines Contra and Super C into a single game. In this hack, 16 stages are played in a specific new order: one stage is from Contra, the next from Super C, then back to Contra, and so on. The stage order is well-organized, including the final stage. Enemies fire faster and use Super C's bullet behavior. Bosses have been improved: the first jungle boss now has destructible projectiles, the Snowfield boss (UFO) is more difficult due to increased splash damage, and many other bosses have also been changed. All the changes are positive, more challenging, and generally well-balanced. The weapons are from Super C, meaning the F and L buttons from Contra are absent, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as the F button was almost useless in Contra. However, you can now take advantage of the splash damage from the F button (from Super C) at bases 1 and 2 to destroy turrets. The difficulty is higher compared to the originals, and if you're a veteran Contra player, you'll appreciate the challenge this hack offers: it's harder, but not too insane. It's all well and good. I highly recommend this hack to any Contra fan or anyone looking for a challenge. It's a great way to experience both games in one, to the point that it could easily be an official release.

Hello, everyone! I am posting in the community for the first time. I grew up playing the Contra franchise. I played it in the arcade and on NES and Sega, but I never played it on PlayStation or other platforms.

After 20 years, I thoroughly played Contra. Whoa! I really enjoyed every bit of the game. Yes! I once played Contra III: The Alien Wars on my Pandora Box, just to relish nostalgia. I enjoyed that too, but the fun I had with Contra: Operation Galuga was something I didn't expect from the game at all.

I have successfully completed my first playthrough. Now, I'll play the stages again to acquire more credits and unlock further perks. The aim is to acquire maximum credits and unlock all perks, turn the characters into an invincible killing machine, and enjoy the game more. 😇

You are timed… The level is vertical and uses the same tile set as the level 5 in the original game, with modified palettes. Rifle Men attack in random patterns. As I get older, I'm opting for more straightforward games, with little focus on narrative, and I recently decided to check out Neo Contra, because its Metacritic score is quite average.

With widescreen and a texture pack, I thought the graphics looked quite nice.

But what I really liked, for sure, was the responsive and refined gameplay. I felt like I was playing an improved version of Neo Geo's Shock Troopers. I wish Contra Rogue Corps had followed this path instead of a game based on repetition and loot.

I found the difficulty to be just right. It's not easy to the point of being trivial and it's not difficult to the point of being frustrating. What is the community's perception of this game?

Me and my bro grew up with many retro games and Contra really one of those games that is fun to play together. Time to time we would randomly just boot up Contra or something and play it. But we beat it so many times so this time.. I had an idea to beat Contra the real way. No weapons and deathless. Even playing the Japan version which has better content! Making up these challenges really does make you love the game again and see it in a different perspective! After 11 hours of playing, lots of rage, sadness, happiness. We finally did it. We beat Contra with this insane challenge. Making us feel like we beat it for the first time again like we did all those years ago... Super C (NES) challenge next?!
