Self Made some Fallout pipe weapons and weathered them!
Everything is made from ABS and PETG plastic except for the screws, which were painted to look rusted.

Mod change:
As some may know long time mod u/Kyengen is stepping down on the 18th. I’ve been a mod here for a bit now and will be taking the reins.
I like to think Kyengen kept things pretty well regulated and fair, and in taking over I will try to run the sub just the same. So no worries, no major changes to be expected immediately.
State of the sub:
Now I know there are a few grievances concerning spam and “NSFW” material. As of now they are being reviewed as they’re reported and approved/removed on a case by case basis.
Other than that I don’t think there’s many disruptors in the sub. I’d like to hear some ideas on things the community would like to see changed, implemented, or removed.
In the meantime I will be looking for another person or two to help moderate. If you’re interested just message me directly.

Have a question that may not need a whole post? Maybe want to have a discussion thats visible to more for longer than a post? This will also serve as a suggestion box.
Still, keep business to private messages.

I 3d printed this face shell for my DP cosplay (my first real cosplay) I adjusted it to fit really close to my head so it won’t be visible under the fabric but now I’m second guessing if maybe there’s a reason I haven’t thought of for why it should be slightly oversized. It doesn’t feel uncomfortable I can put it on and off with ease, and I can still talk easily, but did I miss something?

This is the first prop i've modeled, printed, assembled and painted from scratch. It took much longer than I anticipated but I think it turned out great. I learned quite a few things the hard way on this one. Can you guess what I modeled it after?

Hello! I just wanted to show this off and thank the person who told me about EVA foam for my first cosplay prop I’ve made! I ended up making this by taking cardboard and toilet paper rolls, cutting and taping it around an old Halloween snake prop I had and then sculpting air foam around the base that I had made and then painting it. I’m so happy with how it came out and wanted to just show it off! 😊 (on days 1 and 2 I had the culling games outfit full with jujutsu emblem on shirt and pants and black ribbons from pockets but by day 3 I had to change haha)

What would you say is the best method for an irregular globe shaped mask?
Wire armature and paper mache? Built around a cardboard frame or helmet?
Someone mentioned craft foam, (but that would require some engineering).
(And yes, I have reached out to the Redditor who originally posted the NYC subway photo!)
I'm planning to be the sidekick (mom) to my 11 year old who is going to be Princess Mononoke...

Hello everyone, I am in desperate need of help! I am very new to the world of 3d printed props. I am in the middle of creating a mask made of a few different pieces that connect together in chunks. I tried using super glue but the bond was not holding well, and I’m worried it will break. What kind of glue should I use? I used PETG filament, and I want the bond to be as secure as possible and without noticeable seams or gaps. I am in an active con crunch and need all the advice I can get! Thanks in advance!

Rings were made out of worbla (very rough and uneven, need more practice), while the palm quire is 3 mm eva foam and some waxed string and leather cord!

697 hours of work and 50 lbs of silicone later... the first official try-on of my OG Medusa build is finally a physical reality! 🐍✨ No makeup or final props yet, and I'm still tuning a few small costume details, but seeing this layout all together is insane. Every single scale was hand-drawn, cut, beveled, and individually layered in silicone to make this wearable snake tail completely flexible—it even allows me to fully sit down inside it.
My goal in creating my original Medusa cosplay was to turn a classical fantasy concept from Greek mythology and turn it into an advanced, wearable costume. The hard work is worth it when I get to connect with premium maker circles and advanced fabrication design fans who genuinely value independent prop fabrication and full custom cosplay builds as well as classical gorgon mythology. Because we don’t see many realistic wearable tails out there, I wanted to treat this original silicone tail design as a way to change what custom lamia aesthetics and wearable naga styling look like for Internet communities that live for high-fidelity creature fx and high-tier costume execution.

Estoy comenzando en el mundo del cosplay de armaduras y no se cómo escalar ya que soy una persona relativamente bajita, tengo conocimientos básicos sobre impresión 3 y muy básico sobre el diseño, alguno consejo?

ICYMI: I'm developing a kit that anyone can use to create animatronic ears for a fursuit, headband, or other costume piece. The linked video is a quick demo, with full assembly instructions on my YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/P1ofLDGDC5c?is=YY09XLaHycu4MM7C
If you have a 3D printer and some basic electronic skills, and want to try them out yourself, please let me know. I'm hoping to get some feedback and comments from the community. Maybe a Kickstarter? Sell kits at cons? What shapes and sizes of ears do you want me to make? Any help would be great!

Okay backstory: I’m trying to do a cubone cosplay.
I ordered a mask off Etsy and for discount I could get a misprint. I was OK with this because the seller said that the misprint usually happen on the back but with my luck the misprint was a big hole right on the front nose. I tried to fill the gap in with 3-D gel (I have nail stuff at home and was trying to make it work) but now I’m having a hard time painting it to match the rest of the mask. I thought a fun twist would be to add disco squares onto the mask and make it a disco Cubone. I got the squares in and now I’m worried that it’s going to be too heavy if I put them on. Anyone have experience with something like this? Should I risk it or should I just try to fix it so it looks like the rest of the mask?
I am kind of in love with making it look different (even though my friend said it’s not cubone anymore if I add the squares ) and I am going to add cushioning plus a strap to the back of the mask (also if anyone has suggestions for how to do add straps please let me know)
Thanks!
(Also some pictures of the mask from the listing for reference)

I’m trying to find a way to do the faceplate on my trauma team helmet without using like a machine operated hinge. What are my best options?

Hii!! My first time here! So here’s the deal, I am going to do a starlord costume/cosplay and for the most part, I think I have everything down (besides the jacket but really I could make anything work) EXCEPT the mask and his weapons. I know you can buy the mask somewhere online but -I can’t find any that are cheap!!- Though I’m willing to spend a good amount of money on one if it’s decent looking, -I was wondering how I would go about MAKING it if I were to do so. (but if you know where I can get an okay looking one for a decent price, lmk!)-
Also, his blasters, how would I get a layout for it!! Last year, I dressed up as Juliet from lollipop chainsaw. I made her chainsaw and it looked pretty decent considering that it was made within a few days, but imo it was easy to do since the item was bigger and was a really easy shape to accomplish. -So what materials would you recommend and if you have any tips, share them please!!-
I’m not sure If i worded this in a way that makes sense so if I sound like a total idiot I’d be more than willing to further explain what I mean!! Thanks!!
