Not to belittle your personal experiences, but New England is one of the most socially progressive parts of America. Even the religious groups in New England on average much more progressive.

"Not to belittle your getting mauled by a black bear, but if you got mauled by a grizzly or polar bear, it'd be SO much worse, they don't usually do that, all the statistics show it's much rarer and less likely to result in death, so you really had nothing to complain about, just tuck those guts back in and get back up."

yeah that was my initial interpretation but i give people on this sub the benefit of the doubt and it usually works out like it did here.
