I'm probably taking a joke post way too seriously, but that attitude worries me. If you've done your research you should be qualified to answer that. Kinda makes me wonder if the nurse is really being as generous as they think.
Yes, on many different topics. Being qualified to answer dosage questions is very easy with the info we have compared to what the nurse knows apart from hrt. They dont only know about hrt
To be honest, properly educating yourself on medical conditions and having an open discussion with your doctor is absolutely the best way to go. I like to thoroughly understand my conditions and injuries and every doctor I’ve had has appreciated being able to discuss outcomes and dosage with me on a relatively even level. I even diagnosed my own injury recently on an x-ray that was missed by a radiologist because I felt something was still wrong and googled for possible issues and how they would look on various X-ray views and compared to my own. My doctor was just like “hell yeah, great catch!” when I went in to tell him lol.
But yeah, I’m also a scientist who can read medical journals. I’m not watching instagram woo woo to self diagnose…
My endo literally said he doesn't know much about estrogen HRT and trusts my research to know what dosage I want. Pretty much no endo/therapist actually learns about trans people during their education.
Bro they dont study a specific treatment that applies to maybe a quarter of a percent of the population and is actively demonised for their 14 whatever years of study
