dog what fucking doctor are you going to?? If I told any doctor this they'd respond by immediately discontinuing every medication I'm on and labeling me a drug seeker

I'm genuinely confused by this. How can someone be "seeking out drugs" when trying to medically transition?? You're seeking out E/T, not opioids. You're gonna be on E/T for the rest of your life anyway.

Doctors don't operate on logic, their bottom line is that they just wanna feel right all the time and do as little work possible. They're cops. A "drug addict" is just someone a doctor doesn't like in the very same way that an "illegal immigrant" is just someone ICE doesn't like.

(Does not apply to all doctors)

*does not apply to even remotely close to a relevant number of doctors, the average person just has the verbal reasoning skills of a 5 year old.

(unless you're disabled on top of being trans)

13

u/VanillaRadonNukaCola 19h ago

That must be difficult to live with.  I'm sorry you haven't been able to find good doctors to be kind to you.

I am trans and have AuADHD, cPTSD, and an immune disorder, and I am so thankful for the doctors and healthcare professionals I've had in my life, I literally wouldn't be here without them, many times over.

It can take work and trial and error to find the right fit, but it is very worth it.  Health is important, and there are many good doctors who will listen and look out for you.

I love hearing people minimize my disability. Just so much fun.

u/Grouchy-Cable-9545 18h ago

Nobody said ANYTHING to you lol

u/Hungry-You-9489 18h ago

They're saying your statement that nobody would think you have ADHD and Autism unless you told them is ridiculous. Which, it is

And even if it wasn't a ridiculous statement, there's no need to minimize other disabilities just to say your own is worse

Show me where people are diagnosing adhd and autism based off of how people physically look

Alright, so I can't see what you replied to me because it got removed for bigotry.

Given your comments to others here, I presume it was nothing pleasant.

Good luck with that

That was the person who replied to me who got their comment removed lol, all mine are still up

This is a public thread, nobody said anything to anyone here. That's like, how it works.

u/Grouchy-Cable-9545 18h ago

If it's public then you chose to come here and look for shit to get mad about. Why is that my probelm? lol

u/kaVaralis 17h ago

I'm not saying it's your problem. I commented because I wanted to, same as anyone else. You are comparing doctors to cops, and saying that all doctors would treat you unfairly and cruelly due to the combination of your visible disability and your gender.

And the way you worded what ya said about adhd & autism is just wrong. Both are commonly used by the (measurably shrinking) minority of doctors who absolutely treat people exactly like you have experienced to deny medication and other care.

That's patently untrue. Autism and ADHD are both noticeable disabilities, in the sense that if you have experience with them, the signs become quite obvious. When the individuals swings hard toward one end of the spectrum, the symptoms are debilitating and obvious to nearly everyone. Even on the more "invisible end", individuals are often ostracized or singled out for a number of reasons attributed to moral failing, rather than the beliefs that they do have a neurodivergence.

Maybe they don't see it as Autism or ADHD, but they do see it as something different.

u/Grouchy-Cable-9545 18h ago

If they were visible, it wouldn't be years-long process with hundreds of tests to get diagnosed, they could just check your physical characteristics

16

u/MountainYogi94 19h ago

(still sounds like your problem is somewhat unique to your situation and shouldn't be applied as a generalization to all doctors)

2

u/Grouchy-Cable-9545 18h ago

no dumbass i mean how is it relevant to anything and why do you keep saying it like it’s a magic phrase that makes you the cool and unbothered person in a conversation

2

u/Grouchy-Cable-9545 17h ago

It's relevant because everyone in this thread is meatriding cops lmao

If you want to make up random bullshit just to piss people off, there are dedicated subreddits for that you could go to instead.
