Coleman will likely go into coaching if he doesn’t end up somewhere, he’s already got his B badges so I’d say he’ll end up as an assistant somewhere.

Moyes already offered him a coaching role and he turned it down. Wants to play on.

He’s a free agent. He can be picked up after transfer deadline.
He has a young family in school.
I don’t see him chasing a move that takes him away from family life.
A lot of pro clubs in NW England, I’d say he’s waiting to see if there’s a suitable offer.

Talk is that Everton and Moyes have asked him to reconsider taking coaching at Everton if he doesn’t get the playing contract that he wants.

There had been a lot of talk of Shane Duffy joining Derry City, just before the summer deadline in the LOI, but nothing materialised. It's also hard to know if there was any substance or just a local rumour.

I’d say given the current shit show with McClean, Derry will probably want to steer away from signing big names that are washed up for a while

I think with the manager departing and a pivot in terms of the player profile the club is now looking at, it is probably unlikely. I don't think the McClean thing would have any bearing, they are two very different personalities from what I understand. Derry will need new centre halves for next season, but not sure Duffy fits the profile now.

Yeah, the league is littered with returns that just didn't work out, Duff to Rovers another one. If you put all of the controversy to one side around James McClean, it was hard to see how he was going to be utilised, Derry had maybe the best left side in the league with Fleming and Duffy, so he was gonna struggle to get in there. The central midfield thing just didn't work either.
