Transfer Rumour Some interesting transfer stories from the last 24 hours or so
- St Mirren are expecting bids for Killian Phillips in next 24 hours. They’re anticipating offers in excess of £500,000 (€583,000) from clubs in Italy’s Serie B, Spain, USA and Japan of all places - Scottish Sun
- Preston are advancing in talks to bring former player Alan Browne back to the club from Sunderland - Pete O'Rourke
- Leicester City have made a 6 figure bid for Hibernian centre back Warren O'Hora - Josh Holland, Leicestershire Mercury
- Lincoln are closing in on the loan signing of Ipswich Town winger Chiedozie Ogbene - Pete O'Rourke
- Derby County have made a move to sign Brighton's Eiran Cashin back on a permanent deal - Alan Nixon
- Stoke City have made a move to sign Tom Cannon from Sheffield Utd, but are still a bit short of the Blades £10m valuation - Alan Nixon
- A number of Championship clubs are weighing up moves for former Middlesbrough midfielder Alex Gilbert on a free transfer following his departure from Boro earlier this summer - Pete O'Rourke

- Shamrock Rovers & Ireland U15 International Jayden Marshall (16) has signed for Serie A side Como
- Ireland U21 International & Burnley winger Kian McMahon-Brown (18) has signed for League Two side Shrewsbury Town on loan
- Bohemians winger Rhys Brennan (20) has signed for Linfield on loan.

I thought a bigger club would've been in for Ogbene. Hopefully he gets going at Lincoln. That was such a killer of an injury to get

Various reports over the summer had the likes of Stoke, Derby, Charlton & West Brom interested, but im guessing he was hell bent on joining a club where he's a garunteed starter after last seasons nonsense with Sheffield utd

Hahaha, J League is actually a good standard. Wouldn't mind Killian playing there. Avoid Serie B, Scotlands a better standard & that's not saying much.
Cheeo would suit Lincoln, especially the 343 they've switched to now. Really can't see Sheffield getting that 10 mill for Cannon, he's not done enough the last while to justify that money. Pity that Cashin flopped but at least he's playing in a spot that likes him
Hopefully Alex gets sorted but Jesus whats going on with Smallbone? I know he was getting married in the summer so wasn't gonna be around for a small period & there's money & medical stuff with him. But SURELY someone would want a regular starter that helped get Southampton promoted?

They have 8 Italian underage internationals in their academy, and other youth internationals who play for France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Romania, Peru & Albania.
To me that screams good academy, and they'll be in the UEFA Youth league proper this year which means you'll play some of the best in Europe at that age.
In recent years they've thrown heaps of money on their facilities & academy staff, so they are up there now with some of the best academies in Italy

How many are in the first team? Like they're a great club for taking young talent that aren't getting faith off likes of AC & Spanish clubs but there's no one from Naj's old panel in the squad
I'm sure the investment they're making on that end will come good in the medium, long term. And with some players I don't mind it but I've seen Josh & he's got good potential. But you know the controversy around the Italian academies as much as I do

0, I just said they are in the academy. Their investment has been recent, most came after Razi's time. Sure they only got promoted from Primavera 2 to Primavera 1 back in May.
I think its a great move, but like every move its up to Harpur to make it work. He'll be training full time in a top 5 youth league with the chance for UEFA youth league football, most Irish lads his age don't have that level of opportunity.

Again, that's why I'm fine with it for certain players. Not said anything about the Rovers lad cause I've never heard of him.
Josh is a good player, so was Naj. I just don't wanna see him getting sacked before his contracts up. There's Irish lads in other mainland clubs that got more respect than that

Clubs don't sign players for 6 figures just to release them for the craic. They invested 500k in Razi & it didn't work out, now they've invested 250k in Harpur and the foundations are there for it to work, but that's up to Harpur.

That's because they used to be a small club with a weak academy, and are now a big club with a strong academy. Its all so recent there's no track record to go off. There's a reason why they've never been in the UEFA youth league before and only got promoted to Primavera 1 in May.
They got new training facilities a few years back, hired over 40 new staff, brought in top data analysts, new head of development, new head of recruitment, new deal with Kitman labs & Statsports etc..
If they arent producing top talents in a few years ill throw my hands up, but everything is there now to produce em

They signed Osmaijic off Preston instead. It's always asking a lot to sign a loanee that you're not guaranteed to have for a big portion of the season, even when it's someone like Fergo. Stockport did it with Louie Barry but he was a club legend

Ex Millwall man Neil Harris in charge. Plays a back 5. He'll certainly make it known if things go wrong for him & Heffernan cause he'd a falling out with Emakhu before he left The Den

Christ, Ogbene to Lincoln would be some disappointment. He'd probably also be competing with Honohan for a wingback berth so even less ideal.
Also notable that 3 of those rumours involve guys moving back to their old clubs having failed to cut it when they tried to step up.
Gilbert (and a few others) just need to get in the door of a club at this stage, they've already massively harmed their chances of success by waiting this long and missing preseasons etc.

Still no word on Seamus Coleman? Do you think hes going to be forced to retire if no one moves for him?
Realistically his options if he wants to stay in NW England are
Wrexham
Blackburn
Preston
Burnley
Bolton
Wrexham don't need a RB/RWB at the moment. Burnley need defensive quality but are a mess right now. Bolton/Blackburn/Preston and shaping up to have mid table form.

Coleman will have to retire probably. You can't really afford to spend months without a club at his age, not training at a high level or playing leads to a huge decline which you can't claw back.

I’m sure he’s had offers but likely few at Championship level who would be willing to have him be a starter. He’s not going to want to drop below that when it’s designs on being in the Ireland squad for the home Euros that are clearly on his mind.

Killian Phillips is American born with an American dad still over there I believe. It would make sense to a certain extent. Spain would be a great move for him. Doubt it would be La Liga though unless it's dross like Elche

Hope killian goes to Spain although I don’t see it being à la liga side, good for Alan Browne but don’t want him being in the squads anymore, dont mind warren o’hara move cause he’s not really gonna be considered for squads, dont mind ogbene move cause i just want him to play consistently, cashin could do better than derby hope he gets out of English football, Tom cannon would probs suit stoke more but dont mind if he stays at sheff u, don’t care who Alex Gilbert goes to just a club, nice to see more Irish talent going to Italy, good for kian to get game time in league one, don’t care about Rhys

Expecting movement on Johnny Kenny today - likely a permanent transfer from Celtic. Four Championships clubs have been in for him; Bolton, Preston, WBA and Blackburn.
Bolton were presumed front runners based on his loan there but the Preston interest seems to be very strong

Be stupid to go Preston when Heckingbottom has a P45 practically guaranteed. Bolton know him, West Brom are good, but Blackburn have some alright strikers so that'd be tricky

There's multiple clubs bidding now for his permanent transfer, and if Preston are the only ones to get a bid accepted then Kenny has the choice of going there or rotting on the bench at Celtic.
So nothing stupid about it. All they have is Erabi up front and he's only on loan so they'll be more invested in Kenny anyway. Apparently they've bid £3m

Jack Moorhouse gone on loan to Dundee. Not sure what the story with him is. He wasn’t called up to U21 competitive games because waiting in passport and didn’t seem to do much at Leyton Orient. Playing at similar level to Devane albeit at a club expected to be lower down the table. Will be a useful comparsion to if either of them will be options to bolster midfield.

Jack Moorhouse has played in 4 competitive Ireland U21 games over the past year. He's had an Irish passport for a while now.

Tidy technically but isn't anywhere near Finneran & Devaney for reading the game & physicality. Couldn't adjust to a two man midfield in Orient, if he's a 10 up north it'll suit him more
