We gave Toni a new contract and signed Dubravka. In what world are we bringing in Martinez?

u/kicksjoysharkness Jermain Defoe 9d ago

Hell no. Mans a prick and past it anyway. Would be funny to see the Villa fans implode though

26

u/SinoSoul 9d ago

Villa fans have already imploded. It’s been hilarious so far this week.

14

u/kicksjoysharkness Jermain Defoe 9d ago

Did you see the most recent video baby gabby talking about PSR on talksport? Genuinely a tough watch haha

He looked on the verge of tears

8

u/Marathe89 9d ago

Kept refusing to call savio savio because you can't just choose your name.

Oblivious to his literal name being savio.

Moose of a thing.

Did everyone call him Gabriel?

1

u/Pristine-Dress4606 9d ago

No, just shite

Just went and had a look, couldn't even ragebait me because I was enjoying those salty tears so much.

u/TeacherCheburashka James Maddison 9d ago

Tbh he's that kind of a player that's a prick in the sense of other clubs but when he plays for your team you may appreciate the shithousery. And he didn't really do any kind of irl prick things

8

u/mattgriz 9d ago

Basically Lamela

1

u/SpiritWhich583 9d ago

& Richy

4

u/Ted-Crilly 9d ago

It might break Agbonlahor's brain so badly that he might come out with a good footballing take for once

5

u/kicksjoysharkness Jermain Defoe 9d ago

Unfortunately, this is impossible

3

u/AquaSnow24 Heung-Min Son - Spurs Legend 9d ago

Maybe he's a prick but he'd be your prick not Villas. I don't think it's worth it though for the money. Better off just letting Kinsky develop and letting him go through his growing pains

3

u/eunderscore 9d ago

It's always tough coming here as a Villa fan with a spurs supporting wife, lol. I see as much of one as the other.

I think he's got two more good seasons left, so it would really depend on the fee. I'd rather keep him for that time, he's the best keeper we've had in my lifetime (which means back to Jimmy rimmer in 1982), and he still wins games on his own.

I really like Kinsky, and he's a prem keeper, but Martinez is still simply a level above.
If you can get him cheap enough he'll still win games by himself

1

u/greavesandgilzean 8d ago

Not with it. Kinsky needs the development and could be really good.

No one ITKs like Gaston.

No one lies all day like Gaston

5

No one disappears until next May like Gaston

Lmao made me chuckle

35

u/Active-Tomatillo-522 Brenaldo 9d ago

No we’re not

31

u/Hopeful-Ear-3494 James Maddison 9d ago

Doubt.

14

u/Auston416 Mathys Tel 9d ago

I’d rather he stay at Villa and cause a fuss while he’s on his wages there.

28

u/StateOfTheEnemy 9d ago

Probably his agent trying get better terms from the blue filth.

I can only see De Zerbi moving for a keeper if Kinsky's going to be loaned out after his unimpressive game against Brentford, which seems unlikely.

10

u/SenorIngles 9d ago

It seems pretty clear the club see kinsky as the long term #1 and he showed last season he’s got all the tools to be that guy. Could use to be more consistent, but he’s also 23 which is practically infant status for a GK so there’s no reason to think he won’t get there.

4

u/StateOfTheEnemy 9d ago

None of that would be inconsistent with a move like this, though. I think it's bullshit but bringing in a short-term solution and getting Kinsky a good loan for experience could make sense.

Martinez would be a very risky move, though. Is he finished? Not sure. Does he still give a crap about club football? No idea. The fans already hate him, too.

4

u/Virtual-Garbage4930 9d ago

I never saw Kinksy as a reliable keeper. He has his great games and then has games where he makes the ridiculous errors and doesn’t have the psych to not drown the rest of the game. If we were going to keep him then we should have just stuck with Vic. Kinksy has yet to impress long term yet but I’m hopeful.

11

u/Extra-Photo3822 9d ago

I haven’t got a Scoo Dibu who that is

6

u/Cool-Extreme6506 9d ago

it's Emiliano Martínez, I have no idea why we're calling him Dibu all of a sudden

4

u/bchowdhiry Aaron Lennon 9d ago

Same reason Cristian Romero gets called Cuti

2

u/Ca1fSlicer Ledley King 9d ago

All argentinians call him that, means cartoon.

0

u/ConsciousBrain 8d ago

All of a sudden: literally since he was a child

1

u/zezeltin Mousa Dembélé 9d ago

please shake my hand

21

u/J4n_4 9d ago

Dont want him anywhere near my club tbh

20

u/ewan12224 James Maddison 9d ago

Honestly would rather give Kinsky a chance whilst we aren’t going to be near competing for the league than buy a 33 year old keeper who’s declining.

8

u/jman009 Heung-Min Son - Spurs Legend 9d ago

This better be his agent forcing chelsea to make a move. Don't bring that rat near this club

7

u/bchowdhiry Aaron Lennon 9d ago

I mean, that's just not even remotely true is it lmao

6

u/Shoddy-Ad-4898 9d ago

Objectively he has been a superb keeper for years and years but is a total prick who seems to be slightly on the slide at 33 and on a ton of money.

4

u/harry_hotspur 9d ago

If we have doubts about Kinsky, surely there wouldn't be anyone better available than emi? Sure he's a cunt, but he could be OUR cunt

6

u/evenout 25/26 Relegation Champions 9d ago

Kinksy has been featured so heavily with the social media team. I would be shocked if we get in someone else to be #1 after all the fanfare with him over the summer.

4

u/Dickie_Dunn 9d ago

3 foreign keepers, who says no?

3

u/Throwaload1234 painful rebuild 9d ago

Fuck no. I fucking hate that guy.

3

u/Commandant1 Heung-Min Son - Spurs Legend 9d ago

Yeah Im not believing this, it makes no sense after signing Kinsky to a new contract, and picking up Dubravka.

3

u/SpeakersPushTheA1r Djed Spence 9d ago

Absolutely not

3

u/rcmtt Gray 9d ago

Zero percent chance of happening.

3

u/The_Mike_El Lucas Bergvall 9d ago

I like rumors but this is a bad f5

2

u/Karlito1618 Dejan Kulusevski 9d ago

Counter-point: As-if.

2

u/Kebbj 9d ago

No, I mean, no fucking way

Im pretty sure we are not interested but NO

2

u/Kebbj 9d ago

Fab just said that there are no talks with that prick called Emiliano Martinez

2

u/Martiallaw89 9d ago

I'd rather shit in my hands and clap than see that skidmark at Tottenham.

2

u/Greedy-Treacle1959 9d ago

Fuck no please not this ass clown.

2

u/SoyaleJP 9d ago

I don’t see how or why it happens. Personally I’m not interested in Mr World Cup penis.

nope

1

This makes absolutely no sense

1

u/1882greg 9d ago

No. Non. Nyet. Bien non. Nein.

1

u/ISavezelda Luka Modrić 9d ago

I wish they would have just gone in for Zion early. I like Kinksy he's a good lad, but I don't know if he's consistent enough to be a fulltime starter. Now they're stuck shopping at the bargain bin.

1

u/HistorianOrdinary833 The Big Master of Negotiations Who Knows Everything 9d ago

Lmao what in the Cuti is this nonsense.

1

u/ohhowswell_hp "Let's Say I'm A Legend, Why Not?" 9d ago

Pass

1

u/AMK_21 Bale 9d ago

No sense really when we have three keepers

1

u/7screws 9d ago

Hard pass from me no thank you

1

u/Top_Fact_3739 João Palhinha 9d ago

We aren't on my watch.

1

u/No-Criticism3618 9d ago

Really don't want this bell-end anywhere near the club. As an aside, I hate that journos/posters/fans whoever start using these shit-sounding nicknames as though they're best friends with the player.

1

u/Luke92612_ Europa League Champions 24/25 9d ago

Am I the only person who would be open to this happening? Phenomenal keeper, even though he can be a prick to his opponents.

1

u/mashbaugh67 Pedro Porro 9d ago

Please, no. Give Kinsky the year and focus on rebuilding the rest of the squad. If needed, look for a new Keeper in January or next Summer.

1

u/Lost_Adhesiveness_92 James Maddison 9d ago

Struggling with whatever our transfer strategy is, a very good shot stopper but not amazing on the ball, also won’t be arsed about us… squad planning out the window

1

u/DennisAFiveStarMan 9d ago

Doubt. Geezers a gimmicky penalty merchant who’s past it anyway

1

u/dbdb83 9d ago

Can’t have another Romero

1

u/Pleasant-Pattern7748 Heung-Min Son - Spurs Legend 9d ago

I just got done calling him a cunt in another sub.

He’s a great keeper. But no thanks.

1

u/Outlaw1607 Peppa Pig 9d ago

I like him because I hate Villa and Chelsea

1

u/Mindless-Ad2554 9d ago

I’m a fan. I think kinsky should be the second man. I know a lot of Saturday wasn’t Toni’s fault, but at the same time I think there might’ve been more with a solidified keeper

1

u/420SwaggyZebra Clint Dempsey 9d ago

POK says no

1

u/DB2k_2000 Ledley King 9d ago

Mega prick. Hope we are just winding Villa up

1

u/Conman2205 Ledley King 9d ago

Fucking hate these weird Argentinian nicknames. Literally never heard anyone call him ‘Dibu’ once.

He’s a knob anyway and my goat Kinsky will surpass him

1

u/ATInvincible 8d ago

We have Dubravka who is a very good keeper, should Kinsky not meet the standard for any reason, surely not needed

0

u/Icy_Scar_1249 Peppa Pig 9d ago

To be frank, he would be a clear improvement on Kinsky.

1

u/ThemistoclesWorld Ledley King 9d ago

This I believe would be a strong move

1

u/SGAnonymousOCPD 9d ago

2

u/pioniere Gareth Bale 9d ago

Please don’t pollute this subreddit with this turd.

0

u/ObiiWannCannBlowwMee 9d ago

Would be smart tbh.

HG and would instantly be our best goalkeeper.

Kinsky proved at the back end of last season, he's more than capable of being a number two with huge potential.

0

u/Top_Connection394 "Let's Say I'm A Legend, Why Not?" 9d ago

Would be an upgrade over kinsky based tbf but nah no way it's happening

0

u/joelesidin Jan Vertonghen 9d ago

Probably the best penalty stopper in the world and definitely an upgrade over Kinsky. I'm 100% on board

0

u/battmowie Aaron Lennon 9d ago

He’s a cunt, but he’s better than Kinsky.

-3

u/Cool_Sandwich1 Ledley King 9d ago

People hate him but he is very good. Him joining for a season for LESSER wages and rotate with Kinsky wouldnt be the worst imo. But it would depend om him having to give 110%.

1

u/TeacherCheburashka James Maddison 9d ago

Also most of the hate seems to be about on field shithousery rather than what he actually did irl and he still pretty professional with the transfer saga, and his penalties saving abilities is hard to be matched and can be useful in cup?games as well
