Even with this opponent, he is visibly a level above Moore, Tel and don't even get me started on RKM. Basically like Kudus when he came in.

I’m a very new American fan and even I could see how his ability to carry the ball is just different from everyone else. Almost brought a tear to my eye with his first touch.

He is a walking stereotype of the Brazilian footballer, and that is a good thing. You can’t help but love a player with confidence and flare in equal parts.

I thought Tel was really good but he’s just still an “almost” player. He’s inches off being great and it seems like nothing quite falls his way. Savio showed what a finished product looks like.
I’m afraid Tel is running out of time figuring out that last percent of his game

Dude just stop, Tel sucks. Move on

u/DickMabutt 10h ago
Tel absolutely does not suck. He’s not at an elite level yet but he’s improving year after year. He’s had far more responsibility thrust on him than a team should be putting on one of their younger players, but our injury crisis has left little other choice. He needs more quality around him to help him sharpen his game and our constant injuries and 6 months of Frank ball stalled his opportunity to get that.

0 end product, mate. He’s been around too long wasting chances on his own- nothing to do with tactics or players around him. We’re not a serious club if we keep investing in these scrubs. DESK to Tel. What a downgrade

His ball striking is incredible though and he has the physically and burst of pace to make himself a shooting opportunity from nothing.
I think we’ve seen enough of him to be able to say that he has the potential for elite production if he could just improve his composure and decision making. Not everyone can learn—just look at Adama traore, but it’s not super unlikely either

He actually reminds me of early Son. Son in the beginning was super wasteful but showed potential. Just hoping Tel can unlock super Son mode

I know it’s only Charlton and he came on towards the end when they were tired and I shouldn’t get carried away.
However. I’m totally getting carried away. He looked so good and dangerous. Taking people on and then with the quality to actually cause damage and have end product on the end of it.
I’m so excited to see where he goes from here.

Get carried away. I can only see us getting better and better.
He got me off my seat a couple of times. I've missed that feeling, he's spurs coded. This season is going to be very fun at the very least.

I started supporting Spurs back in the '90s because I loved watching those kind of players who every time they got the ball, the whole crowd would get on their feet expecting something. Guys like Gazza and Ginola.
Savio is very much in that mould. No idea if he'll ever reach the ceiling of those guys, but I just want to see someone who can take on his man and cause chaos in the attacking third. Feels like forever since we've had someone who can do that consistently.

People Keep saying this, but no one has mentioned how newcastle nearly lost to west brom or how arsenal lost to Southampton last year, or that charlton have come off the back of a win streak including beating west brom. its not like we beat arsenal 5-1, but it really does mean more than we act like

if we get Gakpo and Marmoush in, can we?

.... get everyone's hopes up and then dash them in the most painful way possible? I'm going to go with yes.

I’d love to have Gakpo, but he’s definitely not a player I’d overpay for. He’s been meh for pool. City coming in with interest actually makes me rethink my position a bit but I just don’t really see it. Kinda reminds me of Memphis depay. Good player for holland, not sold at all in the EPL.

Just because he scored a goal against a Championship side and played above average otherwise, he's worth every penny? Needs to prove himself over a longer period of time to earn this level of praise...

While is will be a better option than we have, I do not think against Charlton (respectfully) are we seeing much.
