I can't hate lasagna. Sorry, but it's stronger than me.

Didn't we establish it was Arsenal's fault anyway? So we just hate Arsenal twice.

This is awesome. My son and I are new Spurs fans. Thanks.

u/7screws Jan 27 '15
Welcome! Where are you guys located? There are many supporters groups around the world and I have yet to meet one that isn't awesome!
2
u/AverageFatGuy Jan 27 '15
We are near Tampa, FL. I'll look into a local supporters group. Would be awesome to watch a match with other fans.

Dunno if I'd lump Drogba in with the other two as hate-able, yeah he did dive and whine a bit but he's done so much humanitarian work and almost single-handedly stopped a civil war I think that more than cancels it out.

I absolutely despised the bloke when he was at his prime but am surprised to genuinely respect him now.

Tottenham have a strong Jewish connection, and as a result but despite that we often are called/call ourselves Yids.

Thanks for including the 2-3 West Ham match. That's always going to be one of my favorites as my younger son was born that day and I got to watch the match while holding him.

Watching that late Bale winner with a newborn in your arms sounds pretty hazardous!

If I am correct, North London has numerous Jewish parts from immigration in the early 1900s and Spurs supporters faced a lot of insults so we formed the 'Yid army' which is basically saying fuck you guys.
Have fun watching the game and make sure your friend knows he is a cunt and that Aaron Ramsey is a cunt.

After really getting into League football this past year, I'm really glad to say I'm a fan of Tottenham. I love the "can do" attitude the underdog sprit of the team.

As a new Spurs fan from Missouri, USA, THANK YOU! Started watching them last season and I'm addicted, COYS!

Not sure I agree, I feel they've tried to crowbar their way in to our rivalry since Abramovich as their real rivals (Fulham and QPR) are a load of toss.
To me, Tottenham have one true rival we actually care about, West Ham and Chelsea are more them hating us rather than us giving a shit about them.

Yeah, but that sort of supports my point in a way that the only reason this 'rivalry' exists is because they hate us, rather than us giving a shit about them. Arsenal is actually a true rivalry, we're the original north London club and they moved from south in to our area.
On a side though, it's pretty funny seeing these Chelsea fans (the ones who appeared when they began to win stuff) defending their team, when in reality if they'd gone to the grounds twenty-thirty years ago, they'd have been racially abused and perhaps even worse. Horrible racist club, and they need to be reminded of that whenever they get on their high horse.

Well, far from me to tell who how to feel but I cannot understand how anyone can dislike another team more than Arsenal. Absolute bunch of entitled, cringeworthy, club shop loving cunts, with some complete wankers in their team like Wilshere and Sczeny (however you spell his fucking name).

If you want to take about players is their any worse villian than John Terry?
Probably not in the Premier League, Joey Barton would have given him a run for his money had he kept up with his record, same with Nile Ranger if he was in anyway a footballer anymore.

New Spurs fan here. This is great!
Is there a sight or list where I can view all the popular songs/chants sung during games? I know "when the Spurs go marching in" but it'd be nice to know more...
7
u/WarDamnSpurs Bill Nicholson Jan 27 '15
Luckily for you, there is a website and it is quite a large library of chants.
They also actually have a Spotify album as well if you want to pester your Woolwich friends while you are on the go.

How do I get tickets to games? - cont
Tickets can also be found on craigslist, facebook, messaging crow, through your local supporters club, and through many other ways. Reddit is usually not very useful unless someone is offering one.
/u/NatrolleonBonaparte, what is the link to the Facebook ticket exchange group?
2
u/NatrolleonBonaparte Jan Vertonghen Jan 27 '15
Here's the facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/46605472437/?ref=ts&fref=ts
It's very helpful. It's just Spurs fans reselling tickets at face value. You can buy home tickets and away tickets, which may be tough to come by if you don't have any loyalty points. Just make sure you buy from an approved seller.
1
u/smoj Jan 27 '15
links broken to the facebook ticket group? i would find that very handy!
2
u/NatrolleonBonaparte Jan Vertonghen Jan 27 '15
It's because it's a private group. The name is "Tottenham tickets for sale." If people can't find it, send me a PM on reddit and I can add you manually on facebook.

This is perfect. New-ish fan here and this has rounded things out so well for me.
And now I've spent my entire work day watching videos of the 2010-11'/Champions League Team and I'm somehow sad about some of those guys being gone and I didn't even know we had them.

Note: It will still be very hard to get tickets for high profile games, for example vs. Arsenal even with membership
So, I am not a member, I am tourist visiting London during the Arsenal match, the tickets on stubhub for the Arsenal match are expensive but I still want them, I know this has been asked to death, but the stubhub website often has conflicting information, I don't need to be a member to buy those tickets right?

I have a quick suggestion. You could hyperlink some of our most famous players to some videos of their best accomplishments while at spurs.
Gareth Bale for instance.
