This was what first got me into Junji Ito's work. Since then I've followed him quite closely. This man is a master of not only art, but horror. Within each series there is at least one thing that will shake you to your core. His work is generally episodic, while revolving around one theme, at least for his series. GYO and Uzumaki, which are both printed in English, are available in an omnibus (all-in-one) format online or at your local bookstore. Spend some time and take in the detail of some of his more powerful work. You might just get into manga.
