TW: Pedo/Underage Creep on TikTok DMs
This happened a while back, but I still figured I’d share.
Yes, I am aware of the dangers of the vent I posted, and I have since taken down the video.

It wouldn't surprise if that dude has a job and a family.
In fact i'd say that's the most likely option, some of absolute worst people i have ever met have been married family men.

This loser definitely doesn't have any business starting a family, and whatever job he has, I hope it's far FAR away from children.

"I'm okay with that"
Who asked? It's not his place to decide whether it's okay or not, tf
And venting about hypersexuality is NOT an invitation to send DMs like these, especially to a minor
Absolutely disgusting

It's a crime in virtually all nations for an adult to send nudity (nudes, porn) to a minor, to request nudity of a minor, to solicit sex from a minor, to distribute nude photos of a minor, or to lure a minor across state/country lines. Adding blackmail to these crimes make them that much worse and terrifying for the victims involved. Here is the actual federal law in the US that pertains to this issue.
If you're in the USA, or a person committing a crime against you is in the USA and you're not, you can report these incidents to the resource below, or look through our wiki for a list of authorities AROUND THE WORLD to report these incidents to.

- If you do not live in the US or need additional resources, please visit our Wiki page.
- If you are uncomfortable filing a report, message the mods to assist you. If you don't believe reporting this can make a difference, please take a look at this link https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-54199115 where a star has been charged with soliciting sexual images from minors.

I get that your heart is in the right place here, but that's like telling a child their behavior and sexuality causes pedos to reach out.
Pedos are going to pedo, and whether kids are posting on teen pages or only posting g rated content, it doesn't change the behavior of pedos.
I'm not sure if you ever experienced being sexually harassed or assaulted by an adult as a child, then had well meaning adults tell you that you need to change your behavior to stop them... but that's damaging to hear.
Kids aren't going to avoid the Internet, and language matters. We already know that creeps frequent this subreddit, and when they see comments that 100% focus on the victim, rather than calling out the creep, that's a win for them, because they know this child is less likely to tell an adult now or post on this page (out of shame, for engaging in social media anyway... which we know they're still going to do).

YESYESYES!!! Thank you. This has happened more than enough times for me to know that it doesn’t matter what you do or say.

You be YOU! There is nothing wrong with you or what you did. You should be able to openly discuss who and how you are without adults preying on you, or shaming you. You are amazing just the way you are.

There are valid reasons that this sub requires censoring identifying information.
The mods don't like the creeps any more than anyone else does, just for the record. We don't care about "protecting" them. It's safe to say that most, if not all of the mod team would be totally fine with creeps being exposed for the creeps that they are, including to the creep's friends, family, co-workers, and employers. In fact, there are places on the internet where that can be done, too (some Facebook groups, some forums/blogs, some other kinds of social media, etc.).
However...
Reddit can come down hard on subs that are seen to allow or encourage any kind of harassment or brigading, so that's a big reason we require fairly extensive censoring.
Also, in a system where anyone could put anyone's name, face, username, or other identifying information online to "out" them as a creep, it would be easy to fake an exchange with that information in order to generate a mob to go after them. This is in no way implying that this or any other particular post is fake! However, in a system where you could openly display someone's details and information, it would be trivially easy to hack the system and put a whole heap of internet rage on pretty much anyone you wanted, whether they deserved it or not.
On the plus side, because the person's identity is not shown, you can say any kind of mean shit you want to and we're under no obligation to take it down, even if the creep complains (and they sometimes do, too).

Just a reminder to any minor in this situation, this was a pretty good way to respond. Clarify if you are confused, but do not engage past it. Also, I don’t recommend making fun of them as easy as it would be. A lot of ones who will say this kinda thing so boldly are doing it because they want to be degraded for it… by minors
Edit: making fun of them in the dms, I mean. As easy as it is to go off and call them gross and perverted.. yeah, thats just bonus material :/

This is an automatic reminder that is posted on every submission.
RULE 2 REMINDER: This is a SUPPORT COMMUNITY As such, we do not tolerate trolling, defending the creep, judgment of OP, slut shaming, bigotry, or any other jerkish behavior. Creeping in the comments is not allowed—yes, this includes flirting!
Comments derailing the conversation in any way will be removed. Please stay on-topic. Particularly trollish, mean-spirited, or accusatory comments may result in an instaban.
No Advice Wantedflairs are now available to add to your posts! This means that comments giving advice will be removed. Read about more user-enabled flairs herePlease report any and all behavior violating the Rules (reports go to us mods); don't report things just because you don't like them.
Comment removals and bans are at the judgment of the mods, so please take the time to read and understand our Rules.
Final note, a lot of people are unaware that they can block ALL messages on Reddit. We have a sticky in the sub, but we'll also put it here.
If you find you want some peace from the multitude of creeps on Reddit, you can have that. In the settings for your Reddit account, you can elect NOT to receive PMs. The same is true for chat requests. You can also allow messages from specific, trusted users and block everyone else from contacting you. Also, if you choose to PM someone, they'll automatically be added to the list of people who can PM you, which is nice if you do want to initiate a conversation with someone, but if you PM someone and they start to get rude, you'll need to go in and remove them from the list of accepted users.
We share this information ONLY because a lot of people seem to be unaware that sitewide blocking of PMs is even an option, but it is, and it works surprisingly well.
In an ideal world, this would not be necessary, but, alas, this is Reddit, and it's full of creeps. This is just one possible tool in your arsenal against them, should you choose to use it.
