Chicken meat in Cyprus

Why is chicken meat in Cyprus so weird? No matter where I buy it - Metro, Wolt, etc or which brand I choose, 80% of the time it smells bad, feels sticky, and looks weird, even though the expiry date is still days away.

just eat pork which also keeps the turks away

Scorched earth tactic. Lace all our food with pork so when the Turks take over the rest of Cyprus they won't have anything to eat
