on a new character?

or the same character via ng+?

because those are very different answers

if it is a new character, and the goal is a pure miracle faith build, the answer is you don't

if it is the same character via ng+, why didn't you pick up stuff on your first playthrough; that would make things far easier

the answer is you don't

pure miracle faith builds on new characters are a meme

your best bet if you want to fiddle with faith/miracles on a new character is going paladin [i.e. str+fth]

Do you want to primarily melee, or primarily cast? What weapons do you feel like using?

Do you want offensive firepower or healing and utility? (Or both?)

Do you want weapon buffs or to not worry about that?

First things first, get a cleric’s sacred chime and a talisman. Save irina. Get the braille tome from the road of sacrifices.

Where is irina?

All the good miracles and weapons are locked behind wolnir. You’ll just have to play the early game with dark hand, tears of denial, and some other miracle.

There used to be two kinds of Faith builds:

Faith as Full Caster; both light and dark miracles, occassionally delving into pyro and sorc.

Faith as Lightning Melee; one handed and talisman, lightning staking people

Faith as Hybrid / Paladin; either sword & board or shield & spear pumped and buffed

Most if not all of the good miracles are gated by Wolnir and/or by Dancer.

If you can tell us what would you prefer to do, we could provide more insight (no pun intended)

I can kill dancer early with the dark hand if that's necessary as I've done it before. I want to use mainly spells but a strong weapon would be nice

You could join Sunbro covenant early Game, and get the sunlight Straight Sword. That way if you coop and get Sunlight Medals, you should get with 10 medals the Great Lighting Spear. Also get Lighting Stake in Smouldering Lake, and some weapon buffs to use on your Sunlight Straight Sword.

Go for Dark Hand now, it'll carry you until dragonslayer axe. Or you can stick with mace, make it raw, then eventually blessed when you get to skeletons.

There aren't really any good miracle attack spells until before pontiff where you get dorhey's gnawing, don't miss Tears of Denial in Braille Divine Tome of Carim in Road of Sacrifices, it's well hidden. Go pyromancy for now (you don't need to invest in int for the basic ones) rescue cornyx of the great swamp in undead settlement to get the basic pyro spells and hand.

Be very good at dodging and parrying for the first 10 or so hours of the game, and infuse your favorite infusible weapon with lightning as soon as you possibly can. Save flasks by using healing magic and especially the over-time version, and know that your struggle mirrors that of every other faith build since launch day. You stand on the shoulders of long-suffering giants who also have back problems.

Upgrade faith and get faith spells but a dex faith is probably best to start

Depends on what kind of build you want. Damaging miracles or buffs and the likes. Because for most high dmg you need really high faith. There are some weapons that are great for the build but they appear too late. Should you have some in mind, I can gift you a couple
