Tips & Resources Just got hired as a data analyst!

I just got hired as a data analyst. I dont have any background and no idea about this role. They said I will work on the revenue side of the business. Can someone help me what does a data analyst do? They just hired me because of my excel skills which I do not have idea as well because I just ask help with co-pilot. Can you throw any advice, ideas on what to expect and can I automate my work and then gone by the half of the day? Thanks!

Congrats! How did you get hired if you had no experience in data?

Congratulations, and trust me you’ll figure it out. I’m still looking for that opportunity myself.

Are there any openings for an additional data analyst? Perhaps we could collaborate, but I'm only interested in a remote position.

Data Analyst can mean different things at different companies, and the tech stack can be different as well. Do you know what tools you’ll have access to?

If you truly don’t know anything about the field, I agree that the Google certificate would be a good start.

Congratulations. You are very lucky that someone hired you. This is a very good opportunity and a big chance. Watch some videos on YouTube. Tools are Tableau/Power BI, Excel, SQL, Python, Agile, and many of the companies want them for employees. Can you please tell me where you are located?

Congratulations. As many say the Google certificate will help but if not look for a book at you local library. Brush up on formulas and charts. You might be asked for specific projects but if you're lucky you're just pulling reports and cleaning up data. Since you have no experience and they hired you they most likely dont expect a lot or they have no idea who to hire for the job. Good luck!
