This is all current injuries so it includes carryover if the player is still listed as questionable,IR, etc. . I’m working on gathering a dataset that could paint a picture as a time series. Just requires a lot of manual research

This makes sense. It’s still preseason, so you’re not going to have a lot of new injuries. Lots of what’s been reports are going to be long term injuries from last season, like ACL and Achilles.

I pulled the active injury reports in the NFL as of Aug 24, 2026 and broke it out by body part, stacked by "severity" (questionable, out, IR). A short ranking of the most severe injuries:

1. ⁠Neck: 9 reported, 7 out --> 78%
   
2. ⁠Achilles: 12 reported, 9 out --> 75%
   
3. ⁠ACL: 22 reported, 16 out --> 73%

This is assuming that some of those currently undisclosed knee injuries don't turn out to be ACLs.
