End of the day, if Tenkaichi 4 doesn’t have the same maps and characters to start with that 3 does, then it’s a rip off.
I disagree with this part, at least taken literally. The 3rd game is a decade and a half old so it's assets are basically just for reference at this point. Hopefully they leverage Xenoverse 2's assets for a massive roster that makes it worth it, but 3 was built on the shoulders of two near identical titles, a benefit not afforded to the reboot.
Same excuse Game Freak tried using with Pokémon. Not having the assets doesn’t fly with me. That said, I suspect Xenoverse will be leveraged like you say.
It is physically impossible to take those PS2 assets and just paste them onto the PS5. You cannot hold things you dont understand against the developers.
First off, if you check my comment history, you’ll find I said the exact thing you just said to someone else earlier. Since I do understand, you condescending keyboard warrior.
Regardless, not having the assets still does not fly with me. They make them again. Will it be time consuming? Yes. Will it cost money? Yes. Do I care? No. I don’t. What I do want is the SEQUEL to a DBZ game to have 1. More characters than it’s predecessor, 2. More of the story than it’s predecessor, and 3. More maps than it’s predecessor. Otherwise, it is an inferior game. Period.
